My ideal client is ready to do the work, not because they have all the answers, but because they’re willing to be open, curious, and collaborative in this process. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, but they also know something has to change. They’re not looking for quick fixes, they’re looking for honest insight, practical tools, and a space where they can better understand themselves.
I help clients slow down and sort through the mental and emotional noise that comes with anxiety, depression, and feeling overwhelmed. My approach is grounded in helping you understand not just what you're feeling, but why. Together, we work to identify patterns, unpack the deeper roots of your struggles, and build practical tools for coping.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step and it is. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something to shift, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re carrying and support you as you move toward the changes you want to see.
If anxiety, depression, or major life transitions are weighing you down, I’m here to help you navigate those challenges with care and clarity. Using CBT and a solution-focused approach, I work with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, understand where they come from, and replace them with more balanced and supportive ways of thinking.
Together, we’ll explore your strengths, build practical coping strategies, and create small, achievable steps that move you toward the changes you want to see. Throughout the process, I’ll support you in making sense of your experiences, recognizing your resilience, and building momentum at a pace that feels right for you.
My goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and confident in your daily life—so you can show up for yourself with greater ease, clarity, and self-compassion. If you’re ready, we’ll take those steps forward together.
My vision is to let people know there is a place where they can be heard, while being empowered and uplifted. I believe that healing and growth doesn't require perfection-it begins with curiosity. Therapy can be a place where you slow down, make sense of your experiences, and begin taking steps towards your best possible self. Having had a natural curiosity most of my life, I bring that aspect into my therapy work with clients. Don't worry, you will not be bombarded with 1001 questions, but a gentle form of interest into the lives of those sitting across from me, drives my work.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. For more than twenty years, I’ve worked with adults, teens, and families facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. My main orientation is Internal Family Systems (IFS), which I use to help people understand and heal the protective and wounded parts of themselves. I also integrate attachment-based and emotionally focused approaches to strengthen how clients relate to themselves and to the people who matter most.
I come to this work as both a professional and a person who’s lived through many of the challenges my clients face. I’m a parent who knows the daily strain of trying to be present for your family when you’re already running on empty. I’m a trauma survivor who understands what it’s like to rebuild trust in yourself after being hurt. I’ve dealt with painful medical conditions that have tested my patience, resilience, and faith in the system. I’m a husband in an interracial marriage, which continually deepens my understanding of identity, perspective, and what it means to hold space for difference with love and respect. And I’ve been both a therapist and a client, so I know how vulnerable it can feel to sit in that chair and hope the person across from you really gets it.
Because of those experiences, very little shocks me and nothing makes me see you as “less than.” I don’t view trauma, pain, or mistakes as signs of weakness — they’re evidence of survival. My job is to meet you there with honesty, compassion, and respect, and help you find your way forward at a pace that’s right for you.
My goal as a psychotherapist combines deep empathy, active listening, and strong ethical boundaries to create a safe space for healing. I desire to build a collaborative partnership with each client to address your concerns and aid you in discovering your unique strengths to empower your journey. I utilize CBT and other evidenced based approches that are tailored to fit each unique person.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Counselor Educator & Supervisor specializing in racial and health equity for Black, and Indigenous, and People of Color. With over a decade of direct care in behavioral health and two years of experience in research, I aspire to adapt therapeutic approaches to effectively treat diverse populations; Understanding cultural, historical, and societal factors that shape the human experience, our sense of being, meaning and purpose, and relationships is core to my clinical approach.
Clients can expect to learn about and explore all aspects of their identity. They exercise autonomy as a means of being empowered to promote equity in the therapeutic relationship and in our sessions. Clients can anticipate that I as a counselor will seek to learn about and incorporate aspects of their culture to be both informed, sensitive, and to exercise humility. We will collaborate to develop and refine treatment goals, constantly seeking to incorporate client's individual strengths and when available, collective strengths of those they have relationships with. I will strive to assist all clients in self-actualizing, identifying meaning, and creating innovative solutions to achieve purpose.
If you are paying cash or out of pocket, please book your appointment. I offer a sliding scale fee based on income (starting at $40/session) and special rates for students ($25/session). Please inquire if you believe you meet these qualifications.
I’m Dr. Lolade Bakrin, a Licensed Professional Counselor and counselor educator who is passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves.
My therapeutic approach is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also incorporating person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices. I work with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, identity concerns, relationship difficulties, and everyday stress.
I believe therapy should be collaborative and practical. Together, we’ll explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences, and develop strategies you can use beyond the therapy room. I also recognize that everyone’s experiences are shaped by their unique identities, relationships, environments, and life experiences, so I tailor treatment to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and challenged in ways that encourage greater self-awareness, confidence, and lasting growth.
My name is Amanda Chilleme, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, as well as a Master’s Certified Addiction Professional. For over 11 years, I have supported individuals in identifying what truly matters to them, navigating obstacles, and building a foundation for a more fulfilling future.
My primary specialty is working with men and women struggling with substance use disorders as well as process and behavioral addictions, helping them find a pathway to a life that feels less burdened and more aligned. I also have extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, grief and bereavement, trauma, attachment concerns, and personality disorders.
As a clinician, I take a human-focused approach. I am not here to tell you what you need to work on—you already know the what. My role is to help you understand the why, and ultimately the how: how to shift it, heal it, overcome it, or, when appropriate, let it go altogether.
Your first session is best described as a two-way interview. As I listen to your story and your narrative begins to take shape, we collaboratively determine two things:
Whether I am the right therapist for you, and
Whether this therapeutic relationship is the right fit for both of us.
If we decide to move forward together, identifying your goals becomes your first assignment. This process allows me to better understand how you think, how you interpret challenges, and how barriers such as stress, anxiety, depression, or relationship dynamics show up for you. From there, we focus on one goal at a time.
I see myself as your coach, teammate, and cheerleader!
Whether you are just beginning therapy or have been on this journey for some time, I invite you to plant that seed—and see just how beautifully you grow.
