New to Grow
Hello, I am Melissa Jones, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Georgia, offering telehealth counseling services to adults throughout the state. I specialize in supporting individuals who are experiencing stress, grief, and emotional overwhelm. My therapeutic approach is grounded in kindness, patience, and empathy. I believe in actively listening and truly understanding each client’s unique experiences and needs as we work collaboratively toward meaningful therapeutic goals. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with more accurate, balanced perspectives. I also integrate Grief Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support healing from loss and distressing life experiences. Together, we focus on building coping skills, resilience, and emotional clarity to promote lasting growth and well-being.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we’ll take time to explore what led you to seek therapy and what you’re hoping to gain from it. We’ll discuss your goals, outline how future sessions may look, and begin building a supportive therapeutic relationship rooted in compassion, healing, and strength.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic style is grounded, compassionate, and collaborative. I work especially well with adults who are experiencing the emotional and physical symptoms associated with stress, grief, and loss. I offer a supportive space where clients can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and feel genuinely heard. Drawing on clients’ existing strengths, we work together to build coping tools, increase resilience, and move toward healing at a pace that feels right.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone navigating grief, loss, or major life transitions and longing to feel understood, supported, and hopeful again. I’ve been a mental health professional since 2004, and my work is deeply informed by both clinical experience and personal loss. After the heartbreaking loss of my child in 2011, I felt a profound calling to support others who are grieving. Since becoming licensed in 2018, I’ve helped individuals process loss, rebuild meaning, and find steadiness during painful and uncertain seasons. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where your story matters. Together, we work toward healing, resilience, and renewed hope at a pace that honors your experience.
