I have been in the helping profession for over forty years, and I strive to embody authenticity both professionally and personally. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming sex and gender therapist, and I provide WPATH letters to those identifying as being of the transgender experience. My professional experience, as a former first responder, medical and clinical social worker, advocate, activist, educator, and private practice owner, has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and expertise spanning various levels of public service, including federal, state, and local roles. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including mobile crisis response, teen residential treatment, and providing therapy services for parents and children involved in the child welfare system. My primary specialty is working with individuals who have lived through traumatic experiences or who are impacted by historical or cultural trauma. I also love working with people who have a variety of other goals, needs, or challenges. It is important for me to work with my clients, not just direct how they do things. In 2017, while living and practicing in Delaware, I shepherded a bill into law, ensuring others in my field would be able to practice in Delaware while holding certification from another U.S. state.
