New to Grow
Life can be overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like you’re carrying everything on your own. You don’t have to do that here. My name is Maitey Etienne, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes everyone deserves a safe space to be heard without judgment. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, depression, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing. My therapy style is warm, honest, and collaborative. I won’t just sit back and nod. I ask questions, offer feedback, teach practical coping skills, and help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you from living the life you want. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You don’t have to have it all figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes the hardest part is simply reaching out, and I’m honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
Your first session is all about you. This is your opportunity to share your story, tell me what’s been weighing on you, and ask any questions you may have. There’s no pressure to have the “right words” or to share everything at once. We go at your pace. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’d like your life to look like, and what goals you hope to achieve. I’ll also explain how I work so you know exactly what to expect moving forward. Many clients tell me they feel relieved after their first session because they finally have a space where they don’t have to pretend everything is okay. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful that things can get better.
The greatest strengths I bring to my sessions are authenticity, compassion, and the ability to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. I believe healing begins when you don’t have to hide parts of yourself or pretend everything is okay. My clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to because I strive to create an environment where you can be your true self without fear of judgment. I take an active, collaborative approach to therapy. I’ll listen with empathy, ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback, and gently challenge the patterns or beliefs that may be holding you back. My goal isn’t just to help you feel better during our sessions it’s to equip you with practical tools and strategies you can use in your everyday life. Every person’s story is different, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I meet you where you are and tailor each session to your unique needs, goals, and pace. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, stress, or a major life transition, we’ll work together to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward the life you want. I also believe therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or clinical. It can be a place where you laugh, cry, process difficult emotions, celebrate your progress, and learn from setbacks all while knowing someone is genuinely in your corner. Above all, I want you to know that you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Healing isn’t about becoming someone else; it’s about reconnecting with the strongest, healthiest version of yourself. I’m committed to supporting, encouraging, and challenging you every step of the way. I genuinely celebrate my clients’ wins big or small because healing isn’t just about getting through difficult moments. It’s about finding hope, rediscovering joy, and creating a life that feels meaningful again.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to invest in themselves, even if they’re unsure where to begin. You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or a major life transition. Maybe you’ve been carrying the weight of everyone else for so long that you’ve forgotten how to care for yourself, or perhaps you’re simply tired of feeling stuck and ready for something to change. You don’t have to have all the answers before starting therapy. You just need to be open to the process and willing to take one step at a time. I welcome clients from all backgrounds who are looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment, provide honest feedback, and walk alongside them through life’s challenges. Whether your goal is to improve your relationships, manage anxiety, heal from past experiences, build confidence, or simply find peace, we’ll work together to create meaningful, lasting change. My hope is that you leave each session feeling more empowered, more hopeful, and better equipped to handle whatever life brings your way.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Sometimes we develop patterns that leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck without even realizing it. Together, we’ll identify those patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. CBT isn’t about pretending everything is positive it’s about learning to view situations more realistically and respond in ways that support your well-being. My goal is to help you develop practical coping skills that you can use long after our sessions, so you feel more confident navigating everyday challenges.
Couples Counseling
I help couples strengthen their relationship by creating a safe, neutral space where both partners feel heard and respected. Together, we’ll improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, and better understand each other’s needs. Whether you’re feeling disconnected, recovering from betrayal, preparing for marriage, or simply wanting to build a healthier relationship, I’ll help you work as a team rather than against one another. My goal is to help couples develop the skills needed to create a stronger, more connected, and fulfilling relationship.
Grief Therapy
Grief looks different for everyone, and there is no “right” way to heal. Whether you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a life transition, or another significant loss, I’ll provide a safe and supportive space to process your emotions at your own pace. Together, we’ll honor your experience, explore healthy ways to cope, and help you find hope and meaning while moving forward. My goal isn’t to help you “get over” your loss it’s to help you learn how to carry it in a way that allows you to continue living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy helps us focus on where you want to go instead of staying stuck in what’s gone wrong. While we’ll acknowledge your challenges, we’ll spend more time identifying your strengths, building on what’s already working, and creating practical steps toward your goals. I believe you already have many of the tools needed to create change sometimes you just need support uncovering them. Together, we’ll focus on realistic solutions that help you move forward with greater confidence, hope, and resilience.
