New to Grow
Welcome! I'm Amy, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life's challenges with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure to have everything figured out. My practice focuses on working with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, burnout, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, autoimmune diseases and major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with all individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Therapy isn't about being "fixed", it's about learning new ways to respond to life's difficulties while building a stronger relationship with yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct, with some humor! I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process, so we'll move at a pace that feels safe while also challenging unhelpful patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I encourage clients to practice skills outside of session because lasting growth happens both in and between our meetings. As a bilingual therapist, I strive to provide culturally responsive care and recognize the unique experiences each person brings into the therapy room. My training includes EMDR, allowing me to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences when appropriate. I value honesty, humor, and genuine connection. I know that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, and I don't take for granted the trust it takes to share your story. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or simply ready for something to change, my goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered as you move toward the life you want to create.
Our first session is all about getting to know you and what brings you to therapy, your story, your strengths, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll also explain how therapy works, review confidentiality and informed consent, and answer any questions so you know what to expect. The first few sessions focus on building trust and creating a strong therapeutic relationship. Therapy isn't something we rush; we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while exploring the patterns, experiences, and challenges that have brought you here. My goal is to create a space where you can simply be yourself without pressure to have it all figured out. Through telehealth, you're welcome to show up exactly as you are, whether that's with a cup of coffee, in your favorite sweatshirt, or even your pajamas. Together, we'll build a supportive, collaborative foundation that helps you feel seen, understood, and empowered to create meaningful, lasting change.
My journey into therapy began with my own. while in college and I discovered firsthand how transformative therapy can be. Fast forward 14 years later, I've worked in inpatient psychiatry, outpatient mental health, nonprofit organizations, private practice, and with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. I've supported individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, and major life transitions from all walks of life so very little surprises me, and there's very little you could say that would make me judge you. I believe healing begins when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. Clients often tell me therapy feels like a real conversation rather than a clinical experience. I value authenticity, curiosity, and humor when it's helpful, and I strive to create a space where all parts of you are welcome. While I provide empathy and validation, I'm also not the therapist who simply nods for 50 minutes. I believe meaningful growth comes from balancing support with gentle challenge. If I notice patterns that are keeping you stuck, I'll compassionately help you explore them, encourage new perspectives, and support you in making lasting change. Whether we're celebrating small wins, processing painful experiences, or simply talking about life (and maybe even sharing a good matcha recommendation), my goal is to help you feel safe enough to be yourself, challenged enough to grow, and supported every step of the way.
I work best with adults, college students, eldest daughters, 1st generation millennials, and those in helping professions navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, and low self-esteem. I provide a warm, collaborative, and responsive space where clients feel understood and seen. My ideal clients are motivated to build and practice healthy coping skills outside the therapy room, be honest in session and work through the uncomfortable feelings.
Ideal therapy for those who have gone through traditional talk therapy and it hasn't worked. Structed and scripted, using tappers or lightbar to desensitize reaction to the trauma.
Educating you on how your thoughts, emotions and behaviors really are related and affect your day to day living.
I meet you where you are at and use a warm, person-centered approach to help you while you are achieving your goals in session.
Sometimes we keep ourselves from achieving our goals, I help you see those barriers and help you create small steps to the big goal.
Provide you the education and right tools to help you understand why you are doing what you are doing in therapy.
