(she/her)
I help people refine the art of relationship and relating to their loved ones. I have seen and heard many tragic and challenging stories of rocky relationships and families struggling with death, divorce or disaster and I find that all people mostly want is peace, ease, and contentment in their lives. I started my business because I can use my skill and training to help individuals, couples and families relate better, repair their relationships, and reconnect with each other. Despite any degree or license I have or whatever amount of love I have for my family, I respect the courage it takes to grow. I have a deep appreciation of the vulnerability it takes to heal, as well as the energy it takes to stay connected to myself and others.
We will spend time getting to know each other - You'll tell me about yourself and what you are hoping to achieve in therapy. You will give me a family history and makeup and tell me your current situation. I will inform you a little about my style, but ultimately you will be the one to decide if we are a good fit for the work you want to do in therapy.
Patients who work with me tell my I am warm and understanding with a lot of experience in the field of psychotherapy and a background in Social Work. I create safety for you to be vulnerable and heard, and hopeful.
I work with adult individuals and couples. Many are looking to understand and explore what is getting in the way of their own growth and more meaningful relationships. Is this you? Whether single or in a committed relationship, and you might be in a place where you would like to connect more deeply (in friendships and with a partner). Or, you may have experienced a betrayal and loss through death or divorce, and you’re looking for meaning in your life and in your relationships. So you’ve hit the wall! You are feeling empty, lost or betrayed. You yearn for closeness. Feelings of depression or anxiety are out of control. Life happens. Along with all the good, there is also the very challenging. We will work collaboratively and with a big dose of kindness to help you find clarity to take the next steps you need to take in your life.
Imago Relationship Theory
In my work with couples, I help you reconnect with each other. I have a belief that it is through re-connection and repair that we can return to our true essence. I work with couples in committed relationships who want to work out their misunderstandings, reduce conflict, and discover new ways to communicate and find common ground. In our sessions, we take a look at how our childhood experiences shape our relationships and our communication styles. I help you unravel what my teacher calls “The Survival Knot” – those habits that we all have that puzzle, annoy or disconnect us from our partners. The work we do together will help you grow and transform together. I help couples, in their vulnerability and love, embark on a journey to re-connection, reinvention and resolution.
Attachment-based
Psychotherapy can help you understand yourself at a deeper level. You discover what keeps you grounded. Your perspective shifts and awareness increases, you see new possibilities, and you discover alternative choices. This might mean facing some difficult truths, but with support, you will find that you begin to feel better and relate to people in new ways. The rewards are richer, deeper relationships, more satisfying and creative work, more peace with yourself – more engagement in life.
