Hello potential clients! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Sacramento, CA. My naturally altruistic personality has led me to a career I love. Whether you are experiencing difficulty understanding and experiencing your emotions or if you simply don't understand why you are seeking help and would like help defining your need, kudos to you for taking the first step to seek support. I have experience in facilitating positive change and helping clients discover and live in their authentic selves. It is amazing how this form of support alleviates symptoms perpetuated by anxiety, depression, anger, unresolved trauma, relationship issues, gender, sexual preferences, racial tensions, life stage changes and other stressors. It is very important, for me, that we develop a positive therapuetic relationship on a strong foundation rooted in honesty and trust. I advocate for self-empowerment within my clients helping them discover the power, strength, and control they hold within themselves. In return, I ask for commitment to the work so we can operate as a successful team.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will further introduce myself. We will review the therapeutic process and take part in a semi-structued intake session. This intake session will allow me insight on your presenting issues and an assessment of your history providing a basis of your therapeutic goals. Of course, you may feel free to share any additional information and ask as many questions you need in order to feel comfortable with your decision to continue working with me. If time permits, we will work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that works for you. If not, we can always save that task for the next session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is listening and connecting the smallest of details which tend to be impactful for my clients in later sessions. In addition, I may have somewhat of a telepathic gift that enables a WWZD (What Would Zee Do) challenge within my clients when they are faced with obstacles in their lives. It gives me satisfaction that our therapist/client connection extends beyond the moments we share in session. Aside from my formal education, my breadth of personal experiences fosters further connection with my clients facing similar experiences. Furthermore, although therapy brings about certain emotions through exploration of serious subjects, I believe in healing through humor, when appropriate.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

You may wonder if I provide CBT or DBT in my practice as these are terms many clients are familiar with due to access to information. To answer that potential inquiry, I prefer an eclectic approach. This means I draw from different therapeutic modalities allowing for a tailor-made treatment approach just as unique as each client. The client and I are able to experience a sense of freedom from the "one size fits all" approach individual modalities may produce.
