Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been practicing in CA for the last 14 years. I received a Master's of Social Work from California State University. I have worked with teens and transitional aged youth, as well as adult and older adult populations. I have school-based, community/non-profit and hospital/hospice experience in social work. My self-care includes baking, going to the beach and being at home with a good book and my cat.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first couple of sessions, I want to get to know you, what your strengths are, what brings you to therapy and support you in creating a care plan that can address your own personal growth and goals. I will review you intake packet and questionnaires prior to our initial visit and will follow up with you about these as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that empathy and cultural humility are the pillars in my clinical practice. I utilize these in every step of work, and this requires me to keep an open mind and to be non judgmental.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with all ages and all different kinds of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Working in the Bay Area, I have been privileged to support folks through difficult experiences, trauma and various chronic mental health issues. While working at San Fransisco General Hospital throughout the pandemic, I know first hand that mental health concerns can effect anyone at any time. I believe our mental health is as important as our physical health and that the two are very much connected.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am a DBT certified therapist and have worked with individuals to identify unhelpful behaviors, thoughts and emotions. I use worksheets, mindfulness practice and emotion regulation skills to support people making positive changes in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is helpful when we want to shift our thinking patterns and emotional state. I utilize CBT to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, shift core beliefs and address rigid ways of thinking.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used motivational interviewing throughout my career, and have been incorporating it into practice to support people in meeting their goals and making positive changes in their lives.

Mind-body approach

I am a certified Yoga instructor and hold a BA in Traditional Eastern Arts. I believe our bodies communicate with us all the time and we sometimes forget to listen to this. Building our mind-body connection can be a great way to reconnect with ourselves and with our own healing process.
