Hello, my name is Serina Palomino. I am an LPCC (licensed professional clinical counselor) and like to meet my clients where they are utilizing an integrative approach. I provide therapeutic services to children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, divorce, and separation, primarily utilizing CBT, EMDR, art therapy, and play therapy. My approach to therapeutic services is holistic and integrative. I provide in-depth assessments to determine therapeutic needs and identify core underlying issues contributing to client symptoms and behaviors. I integrate the qualities of a humanistic approach to establish and maintain the therapeutic alliance to support the client's successful discharge from services.
During the initial session, we would build rapport or get to know one another to create comfort. In getting to know one another, I would gather detailed information about your present feelings and behaviors to support your treatment further. I would also gather historical data to understand further circumstances possibly contributing to present-day issues. I would only request what you feel most comfortable disclosing in discussing historical information. I would also gather other vital aspects of yourself, including what you like, your hobbies, and your coping skills. Goals are always specific to client needs and individualized to fit those needs. The plan will typically include a correlation of the client's presenting issues. When establishing their goals, we want to move them from where they are to where they want to be.
I attended the University of Phoenix for an undergrad in psychology and immediately started the following semester with my master's in counseling clinical mental health. I have participated in several trainings and provided services to children, adults, and families, and currently, I am a Ph.D. student in psychology. Supporting children, adults, and families supports my vision of serving a higher purpose.
I primarily provide service to children, teens, and adults experiencing a variety of behavioral health issues, not limited to the following: anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, divorce, and separation.
I have completed EMDR basic one and two training with a certificate of completion and am working towards certification in EMDR. I have been providing EMDR services for about one year. I use EMDR with clients that will benefit from the modality.
I am a Ph.D. student in psychology attending a Christian university with a biblical worldview counseling education.
Working with parents is essential when working with children, as parents are children's number one supporter. Knowing how to support children is central to child progress in treatment.
I use CBT as needed with clients who would benefit from the modality.
I am a certified yoga teacher, completing 200 hours of yoga teacher training. I use a mindfulness-based therapeutic approach to support awareness and nervous system regulation.
