What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where they feel heard and understood. You can also expect a lot of humor, I try to make the "virtual tele-health" space as comfortable as possible by simply being a human with a personality. I will take the time to learn about concerns, goals, and personal experiences while explaining how we can work together. This session is an opportunity to build trust, explore initial thoughts and feelings, and begin creating a path toward healing and growth at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy being a "not your average" therapist, because it sometimes isn't always talking about your past, trauma, or feelings. Sometimes it's just nice to talk to another human and feel like they are your own personal diary that can reflect and talk things out with. I enjoy building rapport and getting to know many aspects of peoples lives. Again, humor will be utilized, and I don't shy away from sharing some of my own personal experiences too.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have most of my experience with children, pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults. But I am not shy to work with other adults either. My clients range from unsure or eager to improve, but sometimes do not have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. Most of the time they feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their future.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it is an evidence-based approach that helps clients recognize and change maladaptive thought patterns contributing to their distress. By using CBT, I can provide clients with practical skills to challenge negative thinking, develop healthier behaviors, and build long-term coping strategies for managing their emotions and daily challenges.

Utilizing Humanistic Approaches in therapy to empower clients by fostering self-awareness, personal growth, and self-acceptance. By emphasizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine connection, I help clients feel understood and supported in their journey toward meaningful change.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy helps clients reshape their personal stories in a way that empowers them and promotes positive change. By externalizing problems and exploring alternative perspectives, I support clients in redefining their identities and gaining control over their life narratives.
