In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I value the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance, which forms the foundation for successful outcomes and long-term mental well-being. My goal at every patient encounter is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and therapeutic environment that supports open dialogue and active participation. After the first encounter with a patient, I expect the patient to gain a proper and clear understanding of his or her mental health concerns, the treatment options available and the available resources. I do understand that there is no one-size-fits-all treatment modality, hence, I deliver individualized, holistic care, combining evidence-based therapeutic interventions, medication management, and psychotherapy. I will also provide ongoing support and counseling to the patient.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I provide psychoeducation about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, explaining the modalities to the client. In each session, I help the client to understand the synthesis or connections among negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We work collectively to construct strategies to challenge negative thoughts in an effort to defeat those thoughts and live a more fulfilling life. CBT can be used to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression (grief), traumatic symptoms, etc.

Motivational Interviewing

Through motivational interviewing, I help clients explore their ambivalence about change and find their own reasons to make a change. I strive to establish a strong working relationship with the client based on empathy, respect, and collaboration. I help the client focus the conversation on the specific change they are considering, identifying potential barriers and opportunities. Sll through the process, I encourage the client to express their own reasons for wanting to change, highlighting their internal motivations and together we develop a plan of action, including specific steps and timelines.

Psychoeducation

Through psychoeducation, I provide clients with information about their mental health condition, treatment options, and coping strategies to empower them to actively participate in their care

Compassion Focused

With Compassion Focused Therapy, I teach individuals to recognize and regulate their emotions, particularly negative emotions like shame and self-criticism.

Christian Counseling

With Christain Counseling, I work with Clients to integrate faith and spirituality into the therapeutic process to treat the whole person within a Christian framework.
