Hey! My name is Will and I want to know how you really feel! I received my master's degree from Temple University and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of PA (LPC). Therapy is and has been my passion for almost a decade and what I love most aside from watching others grow is helping in any and every way I can. I know there are multiple sides to every story and I know many of us hold on to things or simply tolerate what we shouldn't for longer than we should have. For the past eight years, I've seen tears, heard fears, helped peers, and now I'm here to lend an ear!
Our sessions will feel like natural conversations in which we work together to help you become the best version of yourself. I will listen to what you say and hold you accountable. Using a combination of psycho-education, therapeutic interventions, a bit of humor, and every skill I have cultivated, I will work tirelessly for you and to keep you motivated. I will ask questions as I seek to understand your perspective and support you in accomplishing your goals; you will have no reason to fear judgment or shame.
I am an eclectic therapist and use bits and pieces from all styles to solve whatever challenge I am presented with. Given the opportunity, I can understand every side, every perspective, and every argument. I want to ensure everyone understands AND overstands each point of view just as I do. If you need to cry, cry! If you need to vent, vent; think of me like a lawyer, a confidant, a consigliere, or a diary. I am here to listen empathetically and I will challenge you (respectfully) when you contradict, invalidate, or discredit yourself.
I can work with anyone; I have no ideal client because each and every person has a different set, of values, ideals, and goals. I enjoy the variety and I love a challenge! In case you are new or skeptical to therapy, I also enjoy those whom are new and/or hesitant, especially if they've had negative experiences in the past.
Eclectic
While I have several preferred treatment methods, I would consider myself eclectic, or all encompassing, as borrow from all theoretical orientations to provide the best support and interventions for the specific concern. I like to make therapy easy and accessible for everyone; therefore, I primarily use a combination of Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (DBT & CBT) combined with a person- centered and solution oriented approach grounded in reality and real world experiences/expectations. I have worked with clients of all ages through a variety of concerns including but not limited to emotional regulation, living with a diagnosis, couples counseling, mediations, parenting, family concerns, ADHD, PTSD, rediscovering one's identify after a life changing event, divorce, trauma, OCD, anger, depression and the list just keeps on growing if I'm being honest.
