Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

What can be expected in first session is: introduction, gathering information which includes any background thats relevant, current issues/challenges, and discuss goals. First session is mainly to build rapport, understand needs, and determine a suitable treatment plan.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have vast experience with people from diverse cultures and blended or interracial families. I create a safe and welcoming space, reflective listening, reframing, encouraging insight, co-regulating during times of distress, and I'm also warm and direct.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with individuals and families of various backgrounds and culture in different settings treating mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and issues such as: adjustment problems, acculturation difficulties, low self esteem, life transitions, work or school stress, and relationship problems.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

My experience with community work which involves children and teenagers being separated from their biological parents and some of the children and teenagers experiencing multiple placements and how that can impact their functioning, especially in their ability to form healthy relationships in the here an now and in the future.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through talk therapy, increased client's awareness regarding the frequency of negative self-talk or hold irrational beliefs that affect their mood and behavior. It would involve client to journal the frequency of negative self thoughts, changing those negative self-thoughts.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sessions would focus on building solutions instead of solving problems and it could lead to overcoming challenges. It has helped to break down barriers to change their repetitive situation.
