Strengths
I believe that therapy is a space that is safe and enjoyable. While discussing difficulties, my approach is strengths-based, collaborative and non-judge mental. Having worked with the neurodivergent community in a variety of settings, I offer a unique perspective using individualized therapeutic techniques.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with children and adults with Autism seeking to increase their skills and abilities for success in life. I collaborate with clients to identify goals to decrease anxiety and increase skills and confidence for success at home, school, work, with friends or with family. When life presents times of stress, anxiety, grief and conflict, therapy is a safe space to process feelings and develop skills to cope.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In using CBT in my practice for the past five years, it has been helpful for many clients to identify and challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage negative feelings such as anxiety. CBT teaches how to recognize the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behavior. This allows changing negative thought patterns to change feelings and behavior.
