Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of CA. I received my Masters degree in 2015 and have been licensed since 2019. I have worked with a diverse population in my career. I help teens and young adults become assertive, hold boundaries, and find solutions to help manage and adapt to their anxiety and/or depression.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first session with my clients is about information gathering. I will inquire more about their mental health symptoms, when they first recognized their symptoms, and their motivation for seeking treatment. I will ask about their long term goals for their mental health as this will allow us to help formulate short term goals. I allow my clients to ask me questions as well (within reason) to help them become more comfortable with me as their therapist.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

What makes me unique is my ability to meet my clients where they are at. I also add a little bit of humor into my sessions when appropriate. I provide a safe space for my clients to speak freely and be assertive (even with me.) I encourage them to use their voice if things are not going how the wished.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with teenagers and young adults who have accepted that they are struggling with their mental health and are eager to learn ways to manage their symptoms. I love working with clients who will take what they learned and implement the tools in their daily life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT skills to help clients identify their maladaptive thinking patterns which lead to negative emotions. I assist and teach clients to challenge their thinking patterns.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a DBT informed therapist, I utilize this modality to assist clients with their emotional regulation skills, interpersonal skills, and distress tolerance skills.

Attachment-based

As a trained therapist in attachment-based family, I will help teenagers and their caregivers work through ruptures that have created a distance in the parent-child relationship. I will assist in helping the family identify experiences where the child did not feel heard and understood.

Trauma-Focused CBT

As a therapist trained in TF-CBT, I utilize this method to help clients overcome the effects of their trauma in their daily life.
