LCSW, 17 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience helping individuals of all ages, from young children to older adults. I believe that every person has worth and the capacity for growth. Often, the answers we seek are already within us--we just need the right support to uncover them. In our work together, I will listen with compassion, provide validation and support, and also challenge you when needed to foster meaningful growth. I have extensive experience working with parents and caregivers to help improve family dynamics and navigate the challenges that come with raising children. I am skilled at working with people who have experienced trauma, even when they find it hard to talk about, and helping them learn to feel safe again so they can move forward in life. I also specialize in supporting individuals facing complex medical circumstances, helping them manage the emotional and mental burden that often accompanies health-related stress. I believe in the importance of goodness of fit in therapy. I will regularly check in with you to ensure that you are getting what you need from our time together. I welcome feedback and encourage you to use your voice to let me know what is working for you and what isn't. Practicing this type of open communication can be hard but will help you strengthen your communication skills in other areas of your life as well. My goal is to help you find your voice and express yourself in a way that allows you to get your needs met. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am here to support and guide you in a way that feels both empowering and effective.
During the first session we will discuss what's most important to you and set some goals to work towards in your therapy sessions. You will have a chance to ask questions and share what is important to you. Therapy is a process that takes time. Likely, we won't resolve much in just one session. But hopefully by the end of the first session you will walk away with a renewed sense of hope and confidence that you've taken a step in the right direction. You will know that you have someone in your corner, and you are not traveling this path alone anymore.
I am compassionate, patient, and I like to think outside the box. I'm not afraid to have hard conversations and ask you questions that will truly make you think about what's beneath the surface. I believe in the importance of firm boundaries and will teach you how to respect the boundaries of others, as well as set your own.
I work with clients of all ages who want to strengthen their relationships- whether romantic, friendships, family of origin, or their nuclear family. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are, without fear of judgement or the need to hide any part of yourself. I am LGBTQ+ friendly and committed to providing affirming, inclusive care. I have experience working with people from all walks of life, including those navigating feelings of shame, anger, or past mistakes. I support individuals who are hurting, as well as those who may be struggling with the impact of their actions upon others. Additionally, I have helped clients facing chronic illness, guiding them through the complexities of the medical system to ensure their needs are met. I also work with individuals nearing the end of life, helping them shape their final days in a way that honors their values and desires. Wherever you are in your journey, I am here to support you with compassion, honesty, and a commitment to your growth.
No two clients are the same, and there is no one size fits all for the therapy I provide. I pull from multiple different treatment modalities based on what each client needs. I utilize attachment focused, solution focused, family systems, cognitive behavioral, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I may incorporate mindfulness or narrative therapy if it would be helpful for my clients. There are so many therapeutic tools and modalities available, I am committed to finding the right blend of frameworks to meet each client's individual needs.
