About me

Does life challenges come at you so hard that it throws you off balance? Well, you are not alone and self-care in the form of therapy can help you regain stability. Hello, I am Ms. Prudence Jenkins a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California and Texas. As a therapist with more than 25 years of counseling experience, my focus after the first session, my goal is to help the client achieve a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them in an emotionally safe place. My specialized knowledge and experience working with military-related issues such as trauma, deployment, isolation, transitioning, and other military-related stressors have given me insight into the challenges our military families experience. I am also experienced in providing trauma-informed therapy to victims of sexual assault, at-risk juveniles, and substance use. I work intensively with clients by offering treatment related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, child abuse, behavioral problems, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, I am trained in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Parenting for Incarcerated Individuals, and Crisis Intervention. My therapeutic approach is implemented in an emotionally safe place with a warm and genuine demeanor while considering a holistic, integrative, and strength-based approach committed to treating clients and helping them achieve their goals. Prudence is a brilliant mental healthcare provider. Considerate, measured and reassuring! I'm definitely planning to work with her long term, but beyond that I encourage anyone who wants to approach their wellness gently but accountably, Prudence is a brilliant guide for that process.
