New to Grow
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist providing individual, couples, and family therapy in a supportive and collaborative setting. My practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, EFT, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. My approach stands out in its focus on emotional awareness, relationship dynamics, and skill development, with an emphasis on helping clients not only understand their challenges but also develop sustainable strategies for growth and resilience.
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where we begin getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and what you hope to gain from treatment, while also giving you space to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We will talk about your goals for therapy and begin identifying areas you would like to focus on, whether that involves emotional well-being, relationships, coping skills, or specific life challenges. I will also explain my approach to treatment and answer any questions you may have about the therapy process.
I bring a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based approach to my sessions, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. I strive to meet clients where they are while also helping them gently challenge unhelpful patterns and move toward meaningful change. I also prioritize building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and respect. Clients often find my style to be both supportive and structured, helping them feel understood while also gaining concrete tools they can use outside of sessions.
My ideal clients are individuals, couples, and families who are motivated to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping with emotional stress. I am best positioned to serve clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress related to life transitions, relationship difficulties, family conflict, or challenges with emotional regulation and communication. I work well with clients who are open to reflection and willing to engage in the therapeutic process, even if they are unsure of what change will look like at the beginning. Many of the clients I support are seeking greater self-awareness, improved interpersonal effectiveness, and more confidence in managing emotions and navigating relationships. I also work with individuals who may feel stuck in unhelpful patterns and are ready to explore new ways of thinking, responding, and relating to others. In couples work, I support partners who are experiencing disconnection, communication breakdowns, or recurring conflict and who are interested in rebuilding trust, deepening emotional intimacy, and learning healthier ways to resolve disagreements. In family work, I help caregivers and children strengthen attachment, improve communication, and create more supportive and emotionally safe relationships. Overall, I am best suited to clients who value a collaborative, supportive, and structured therapeutic environment and who are interested in both insight-oriented work and practical skill-building to support meaningful and lasting change.

Couples Counseling
I utilize a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help couples strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and develop a deeper emotional connection. Through EFT, I help partners identify and understand the underlying emotions and attachment needs that drive conflict and disconnection. Couples are guided in recognizing negative interaction cycles, expressing vulnerable emotions in a safe and supportive environment, and creating more secure emotional bonds. The goal is to foster greater empathy, emotional responsiveness, and trust between partners. Using the Gottman Method, I assist couples in developing practical skills to improve relationship functioning. Interventions may include enhancing friendship and intimacy, increasing effective communication, managing conflict constructively, strengthening emotional attunement, and building shared meaning within the relationship. I also help couples identify and reduce harmful communication patterns, such as criticism, defensiveness, contempt, and stonewalling, while promoting healthy alternatives. In practice, I integrate both approaches by helping couples explore the emotional roots of relationship distress while also providing concrete tools and strategies for communication, conflict resolution, and connection. Treatment is tailored to each couple's unique needs, goals, strengths, and challenges, with an emphasis on creating a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns and developing healthier, more adaptive ways of responding to life's challenges. In practice, I work collaboratively with clients to identify negative or distorted thoughts that may contribute to emotional distress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or behavioral difficulties. Together, we examine the evidence for these thoughts, challenge cognitive distortions, and develop more balanced and realistic perspectives. Clients are encouraged to increase awareness of how their thoughts influence their feelings and actions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that contribute to emotional suffering and help them balance acceptance of their current experiences with efforts to create meaningful change. Sessions may include skill-building exercises, problem-solving, behavioral analysis, and the application of DBT techniques to real-life situations. Clients are encouraged to practice skills between sessions to strengthen their ability to navigate challenges effectively. My approach integrates validation, support, and accountability while helping clients build resilience, improve communication, establish healthy boundaries, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions and life stressors. Treatment is tailored to each client's unique needs, strengths, and therapeutic goals.
Child Parent Psychotherapy
I use Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to strengthen the relationship between children and their caregivers while addressing the emotional, behavioral, and developmental impact of trauma, stress, attachment disruptions, and other challenging life experiences. CPP is a relationship-based treatment that focuses on promoting safety, emotional security, and healthy attachment within the caregiver-child relationship. In practice, I work collaboratively with both the child and caregiver to understand how past and current experiences may be affecting the child's emotional well-being, behavior, and development. Through joint sessions, I help caregivers and children develop a shared understanding of emotions, experiences, and relationship patterns while fostering healthy communication and emotional connection.
