Everyone deserves a space to be heard, understood, and supported. I hope to create an open, warm, honest, and safe space for each person I work with. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) offering telehealth therapy in California. I am a firm believer in mental health support that meets you as an individual where you are at in life—understanding each person’s experience and journey is unique and tailoring interventions to best support your goals. Therapy isn’t one size fits all and I approach getting to know you as an individual with your interests, passions, motivations, priorities, and desired changes at the forefront of our work together. I am excited to be working to help people navigate life’s difficulties, develop coping skills skills, and support insight in your journey of understanding who you are, how you relate to others, and how to make sense of the world around you.
We can start off with introductions. I'll answer any questions you might have about therapy and we can explore what challenges or stressors you are navigating. Together, we will create a goal you want to focus on in therapy. :)
Flexibility. Therapy isn't one size fits all. I will try to understand who you are as a person and bring in tools and approaches that resonate with you. I welcome feedback about what you feel works for you and what doesn't resonate. Therapy is a a space we create together and I want your input. Non-judgmental listening. It's hard to tell someone personal things. I want you to know that in this therapeutic space we will actively challenge shame and instead pursue safety and affirmation. Enthusiasm. Change is hard. While the road isn't always easy, I believe that there's so much to be excited about and celebrate about you taking the first step to show up for yourself and prioritize your own mental health and wellbeing. It's an honor to cheer you through every win (big and small) because change happens by taking one step at a time.
Some common themes that I address in my work as a therapist include: - Anxiety -Depression -Self Esteem -Relationship and communication issues (family, friends, romantic partner) -Identity Challenges -Grief and Loss -Change amidst life stages -Work and Career Issues/Burnout -Stress Management
I like to work with each individual to identify common negative thinking patterns and how they can impact mood, relationships, school/work, and daily life. It can be a powerful tool to reflect on and shift thinking patterns to help strengthen ability to manage stress, anxiety, and life's challenges. I apply a lens of creating awareness of both internal and external factors contributing to presenting issues.
I like to use motivating, solution focused discussions to help people identify, change, and maintain daily habits and effective decision making that can help alleviate stress from life's challenges.
I use an attachment theory orientation often in my work with individuals hoping to address relational issues (romantic, peer, and family). By looking into past experiences with one's parental/caregiving figures, I hope to support one's increased insight into present relational dynamics.
It's so important to have a safe space in therapy that operates in recognition of one's own cultural identity(ies). As a Filipino/Asian woman who finds my own identity important to my worldview, I like to create open discussions and therapeutic acknowledgement around the relationship one's intersecting identities has with walking through the world and experiencing the environment around us.
