Kristine Fernandez
My name is Kristine Fernandez, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the beautiful and sunny state of California. I have worked with all ages and specialize in trauma-informed care by using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Humanistic therapy to help my client understand patterns and build hope within themselves and others.
The type of environment I create with sessions is one where you feel safe and supported to engage, feel comfortable saying what is on your mind, and see the best in yourself.
I want to provide encouragement that you will get through this.
First session
I want my clients to be comfortable in a judgment free environment to say what is on your mind. We'll go through a series of questions and discuss what led you to therapy and your goals for treatment. I am here to encourage and provide the type of support to help you build a foundation of healing and self-worth.
Strengths
My communication style is calm, transparent, accepting, and hopeful. The type of environment I create with sessions is safe and supported to engage in feeling comfortable with saying what is on your mind and encouraging you to see the best in yourself.
Ideal clients
I love working with teens and adults who have experienced trauma and whose symptoms present as feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed as a result of the experience. I specialize in working with my clients to help them understand trauma responses while formulating a plan to create healthier thoughts and behavior patterns to be more positive. My approach is rooted in understanding how trauma impacts everyone differently and how to use therapy to care for oneself.
