Hi! My name is Evelyn Sahagun and I am a bilingual, bi-cultural Mexican- American licensed therapist. I have been working in the field of mental health for over 10 years. My experience includes working in an array of settings such as county mental health, juvenile hall, community college, and working within a group practice. These opportunities have allowed me to work with diverse clients from all walks of life whom experience a variety of challenges. Some of my specialties include working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, acculturation issues, survivors of sexual abuse, PTSD, trauma, and issues uniquely related to first responders.
The ability to be yourself unapologetically. My sincere hope is that you leave our sessions feeling seen, validated, and empowered to take steps towards reaching your full potential.
Because I have worked in the mental health field for over 10yrs, I have had the opportunity to work in different settings, different individuals, and an array of issues. As a result, I understand that there's no magic technique that can "fix" everything. Similarly, not every technique is appropriate for everyone. As we know, human beings are all unique and therefore so is my approach with each client.
Clients who are motivated to change and want to heal and or overcome their issues.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have found this technique to be most useful for clients who have a clear understanding of the issues and or problem they would like to address in therapy. Client's who benefit from this technique are individual's who have previously been in therapy and are comfortable opening up and or discussing the core issue.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have often utilized this method to support clients in overcoming negative thinking patterns that keep them feeling depressed, anxious, or feeling shame. This is vital, in clients being able to reach their full potential.
Motivational Interviewing
I have often utilized MI when clients are feeling unsure about big choices and or life decisions. MI helps client's explore pros and cons of each decision and ultimately helps them decide which outcome makes sense for them.
