Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.
Have you ever wondered, “What is wrong with me?” If your mirror can talk back to you, what would it say? What good things or bad things will it tell you and how would you respond? I will be the mirror that will help you learn more about yourself and will give you an honest reflection so that you can make the best decisions for yourself. I tailor my counseling approach based on your specific needs and goals.

Life is not meant to be lived alone: It’s not a good thing (Genesis 2.18). I am here to support you and to remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139.13-14), and you are loved (John 3.16). Nothing is impossible with God (Matthew 19.26). Whatever you are struggling with, whatever troubles you, know that God has a purpose for your life (Romans 8.28). As a Christian counselor, you can trust that my counseling approach will not stray from the teaching of the Bible. May God guide us as we work together to understand His purpose and His plan for the challenges in your life.

This year I have taken a break from in-person therapy where I specialized in EMDR to more of a person-centered approach addressing men’s issues, as well as working mainly with with First Responders, Veterans, Active Duty personnel as well as couples.
I guide the client in the direction of healing or self actualization incorporating Cognitive Processing , Jungian therapy and Attachment-Based therapy. “Jungian”refers to the psychological doctrines and analytical therapy developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. Attachment Based therapy is a form of counseling that explores how your early childhood relationships with primary caregivers shape your adult attachment style.
In addition to individual therapy I have worked with couples using the Gottman Method. It is a structured, research-based approach to couples therapy developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy and respect, and remove barriers.
