I believe that the client needs to express the issues and trauma that they have, along with being given coping skills and tools to deal with the symptoms associated with their issues. I believe in being proactive. I don’t want the client to think that I’m just there listening and nodding my head. I want them to know that this is a collaborative process and I’m in it with them to help them become with self and overcome any obstacles in their way.

I listen with empathy and compassion. I meet people where they are, whether they are ready to dive right in and make changes, or need time to engage and decide if therapy is right for them. I enjoy connecting your past experiences with current life choices. I love helping people see that they have all of the skills they need for change, they just may not know it yet. Incorporating laughter, moments of relaxation and finding joy are a must for our sessions. My ultimate goal is to have the client leaving the session feeling better than when they started.

I have been licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2004, and have held a supervision designation since 2015. I have also held a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with a supervision/training designation license since 2018. I have maintained a private counseling practice in Chillicothe since 2000, and I continue to work with individuals and families in that capacity. I have dedicated my career to helping others and to working with the community to ensure the well-being of families and children. My most common theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Christian Therapy, but I am proud to be able to use a multitude of approaches, dependent on what works best for the client(s) involved. I value the individual and the couple regardless of age or philosophical approach to their life or relationship. I see my goal of treatment as improving the individual or couple to be the best they want to be. My communication tone or approach tends to be direct but laid back. We are in session to work together, not have me tell you what to do or where you need to go.

Therapy can be challenging due to life itself, and meaningful change rarely occurs overnight. Throughout my work as a therapist, I have found the best outcomes come when clients approach the process with openness, humility, and a willingness to engage in self-reflection and growth. I do not believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy; instead, I tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs, goals, and experiences. My role is to support and guide clients through their journey, recognizing that therapy is ultimately what you make of it. Lasting change comes through consistent effort, collaboration, and trust in the process.

Hi, I’m Sema—and I get it. I know that when you’re going through a difficult time, it can feel like no one truly hears you. Sometimes, even well-meaning people try to “fix” things without fully understanding what you're going through. That’s why I aim to offer something different: a safe, judgment-free space where you feel genuinely heard. My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, connection, and collaboration. I believe in working alongside my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, identify the core of their challenges, and build practical tools to manage and move through them. Together, we don’t just talk about the problem—we work toward healing, growth, and long-term resilience. I earned my LMSW from Wayne State University in 2016 and have since supported individuals navigating a wide range of challenges including mental health concerns, grief and loss, substance use, complex family dynamics, and the emotional toll of physical health issues. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and integrative therapeutic techniques that help clients reframe negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and move toward becoming the best version of themselves. You don't have to do this alone. I'm here to support you, listen to you and walk with you through whatever you're facing.

I’m a clinical psychologist based in Ohio who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, identity concerns, and the pressure to “have it all together.” I take a genuinely collaborative approach to therapy and put a lot of care into building a strong, trusting relationship where you don’t have to censor yourself. My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which means we’ll focus less on “fixing” or fighting your feelings and more on getting clear about your values and building a life that feels meaningful to you. Instead of trying to shut emotions down, I help clients learn how to make space for feelings, respond with compassion, and use practical coping skills to stay present and move toward what matters most. I’ve spent much of my career working with college and graduate students, so I’m familiar with the unique stressors of academic life, emerging adulthood, and major life transitions. I approach therapy through a lens of cultural humility, actively honoring how your race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, religion or spirituality, class background, and other identities shape your experiences. I work to create a space where your culture and identities are not just “respected,” but meaningfully integrated into our work together, and where your values and lived experience guide our goals and the way we move through therapy. As a Certified Geek Therapist, I enjoy working with clients whose “geeky” interests—like video games, anime, superheroes, board games, and TTRPGs—are a meaningful part of their lives. Together, we can use your fandoms and favorite stories as tools for insight, coping, and growth, treating them as strengths rather than quirks you have to hide in therapy.

Hi, I’m Jacalyn Yurick, LISW-S. I’m a licensed therapist with over 10 years of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, grief, substance use, and major life transitions. I specialize in working with individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, or exhausted from carrying the weight of everything on their own. Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning on the outside while silently struggling internally with anxiety, unresolved trauma, burnout, people-pleasing, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion. Others come to therapy after years of feeling misunderstood, emotionally disconnected, or unable to fully move forward despite trying everything they can to “just cope.” My goal is to help clients move beyond simply surviving and begin feeling more grounded, confident, connected, and emotionally at peace. I am EMDR-trained and have extensive experience treating complex trauma and PTSD. In addition to trauma work, I frequently help clients struggling with panic attacks, chronic stress, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, grief and loss, and substance use concerns. I utilize evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based treatment tailored to each client’s individual needs. My background includes work in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential substance use treatment, outpatient mental health, school-based therapy, couples counseling, and telehealth. Working across these settings has given me experience supporting clients through both crisis situations and long-term personal growth. Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, supportive, direct, and easy to talk to. Therapy does not require you to have everything figured out before you begin. You only need a starting point, and together we can work toward meaningful and lasting change.

Hi, I’m Marie — a therapist who believes that change is always possible, no matter where you are in life. My goal is to help you feel better emotionally, think more clearly, and move toward a future that feels fulfilling and peaceful. In our sessions, we’ll work together to understand what’s been holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions—and teach you tools to shift negative thinking. I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress. I often work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or major life changes—like adjusting after a loss, a new diagnosis, or changes that come with getting older. My approach is supportive and empowering. I want you to feel heard, encouraged, and equipped with the tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence and hope. As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist speaking both English and French, I understand the importance of culture, identity, and belonging. This lived experience allows me to better connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and support them through challenges related to identity, adjustment, and navigating different cultural expectations. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can build resilience, gain clarity, and make meaningful, lasting change. ---------------------------------------- 📌 Cash Pay / Self-Pay Therapy Option 📌 Self-pay may be a good fit if you prefer: • More privacy (not billed to insurance) • More flexibility in session focus/frequency • No insurance restrictions (limits/authorizations) 📌 Self-Pay Rates: • Intake/Diagnostic Evaluation: $220 • 53-min session: $185 • 45-min session: $150 • 30-min session: $135 📌 Insurance note: Self-pay may qualify for out-of-network reimbursement depending on your plan (not guaranteed). With over 21 years of experience in the mental health field, I am dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges and find healing. As an LPCC licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky, I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and self-esteem issues. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati, and my approach integrates a deep understanding of human emotion with a genuine desire to create meaningful change. My therapeutic style is warm, approachable, and often includes humor to help create an open and supportive space for growth. I use trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices to help clients process past experiences, build resilience, and reclaim their sense of safety and control. Validation, empathy, and humor are key tools I use to make healing feel not only possible but hopeful. Together, we work to foster lasting change, create healthier coping strategies, and develop a stronger, more empowered sense of self. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, transformation is always within reach. My name is Michael Starr, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I believe therapy is more than just problem-solving, it’s a place to rediscover who you are, heal what’s been hidden, and move forward with clarity and strength. I work with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm. My style is honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of the human experience. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT, but I also hold space for what cannot always be explained, your story, your meaning, your growth. Clients often come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we uncover the patterns keeping you there and build the insight, skills, and resilience to move through them. You won’t be rushed or judged. You’ll be heard, supported, and challenged when needed. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to start. Healing begins with one honest conversation, and I’m here to take that step with you.

I am an highly experienced doctoral-level provider with an Ohio license for clinical psychology. I have been practicing in numerous settings throughout my long career, including working in institutions and in private practice. I am used to effectively treating the vast majority of individuals who walk through my door, giving me a wide-ranging skillset. I am a goal-oriented therapist, and I know that people who are coming to me are often in noteworthy distress, and it is my duty as your doctor to alleviate this distress. Working collaboratively is important, and knowing your goals for therapy is of utmost importance. My standards for myself for you is high; every person will get treatment plan, which is the active steps to alleviate the ailment. I will communicate my diagnosis and the treatment plan I am planning, and will only proceed with your endorsement of the plan. If you come to me with a specific diagnosis, and you do therapy with me and these conditions aren't being alleviated, then we are not meeting the objectives of therapy. If progress does not occur, then efforts will be made to try to discover why progress isn't occurring. Should you still not progress on your goals and diagnosis, I will be open to finding you a provider who might help. Having been a generalist provider, my best skills are for those that present the most in the population, including depression disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and trauma. I employ prolonged exposure as my technique for helping traumatized people, and this would be an excellent treatment for individuals who are new to trauma processing or have failed at EMDR.
