New to Grow
I’m Scott, a therapist who strives for a flexible and authentic connection. My goal is to create a space that feels comfortable enough to laugh in, but intentional enough to grow in. Whether we’re using DBT skills or navigating the week's hurdles, I’m here to challenge you and help you find the change that’s waiting right around the corner. When I’m not working with clients, I’m typically spending time with my boys, watching anime, or baking. So remember: 'If every porkchop were perfect, we wouldn’t have hotdogs.' Don’t wait for the 'perfect' time to start therapy, reach out today and let's get started.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect... paperwork, questions about your history, and a fair amount of admin stuff. I know it sounds boring and a bit callous when you’re looking for someone who just cares. But I promise you: it’s not how we start, it’s how we finish. Think of this session as us laying the foundation. If you can push through the 'dry' stuff with me, you’ll leave that first hour not only feeling heard but knowing that you have someone in your corner who truly understands the full picture of your life.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths are my flexibility and my calming presence. Having spent years in crisis work, I’ve learned how to remain centered when everything feels like chaos. I never assume I’ve seen it all, but I have learned how to be the 'rock' in the room. When your world feels overwhelming, I provide a steady, non-judgmental space where we can slow down, breathe, and find a path forward together.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I believe that the best therapy happens when there is a true "click" between therapist and client. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to move through the "messy middle" to find clarity and connection. When it comes to individuals, I truly enjoy working with children, teens, and adults navigating ADHD. I know firsthand that life with ADHD can be overwhelming, but I also know it makes for sessions that are never boring. I bring both my therapeutic expertise and my lived experience to the room to ensure you feel seen, heard, and understood. I also specialize in supporting young adults (ages 18–28) as they navigate complex Family of Origin issues. If you’ve ever found yourself asking, "Is it okay to set boundaries with my family?" or "Why is their emotional weight always on my shoulders", I’m here to help you find those answers. While many therapists might shy away from infidelity and high-crisis cases, I lean into them. I believe that when two people have endured a deep breach of trust but are both willing to show up and do the work, we see the most profound examples of human growth. If you are in a season of damaged trust but are willing to "feel it to heal it," I will walk that path with you to help you rediscover love and security. I love helping families who are in the midst of major life transitions. Whether you are preparing to send a child off to college or welcoming a new member to the home, these shifts can be taxing on everyone. I am the right fit for your family if parents are struggling with the transition of letting go, children or teens are advocating for more independence, or the whole family wants a concrete plan to be successful in their next stage of life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I specialize in applying Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients navigate the tension between their Rational and Emotion Minds. My goal is to guide clients toward their 'Wise Mind' a place of intuitive, balanced clarity. By incorporating structured skills like STOP and ABC PLEASE, alongside consistent tracking via Diary Cards, I ensure our sessions are intentional, goal-oriented, and rooted in a foundation for lasting change
