I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Chicago, IL. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing the transformation in my clients' self-concept. This shift in perspective is crucial, especially for those who have been weighed down by feelings of inadequacy or failure. It’s incredible to see how this newfound self-belief translates into resilience, allowing them to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to challenges with greater ease.

I am dedicated to helping people heal holistically from past traumas, anxiety, depression, anger or relationship challenges. I use a very effective treatment modality called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people heal from traumatic memories, negative beliefs about themselves, or past situations in one's life that have caused them emotional pain. In addition, I teach people how to manage their thoughts and emotions using mindfulness, mind/body, meditation practices, and cognitive behavioral methods. For those who are interested in healing their mental health naturally through changing their life style habits, I have training in how proper nutrition, sleep and exercise can help improve one's brain health, and therefore improve their mental health.

Hi! I'm Sharonda, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Growing up in Chicago, I regularly witnessed individuals with mental health difficulties, addiction issues, individuals impacted by trauma, and those who were victims of violence. Many of them did not have guidance on how to heal or could not access helpful resources/supports. Because of that, I set my goal to be a valuable resource and advocate for anyone who may need guidance or support through their struggles. I have approximately 10 years of experience working in various mental health settings including; a substance abuse rehabilitation center; outpatient therapy facilities; within the juvenile detention center; with DCFS involved youth; Juvenile Trauma programs; and with Community Violence Intervention programs.

Hi, I’m Brianne! I specialize in working with adults who struggle with OCD, anxiety, panic, and related challenges. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals navigate these difficulties using evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and psychoeducation. My clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy should be both structured and supportive—a space where you feel safe to open up while also being encouraged to challenge the patterns that keep you stuck. I balance empathy and compassion with practical strategies, always tailoring treatment to fit your unique needs and goals. In our work together, I aim to help you understand your symptoms, develop resilience, and reconnect with the parts of life that matter most to you. Whether that means facing fears through ERP, practicing mindfulness with ACT, reshaping unhelpful thought patterns with CBT, or cultivating self-compassion through CFT, I provide tools that you can apply both inside and outside of sessions. I know it can be overwhelming to take the first step toward therapy, especially when anxiety and OCD already take up so much space in daily life. My role is to walk alongside you—helping you untangle the noise, embrace uncertainty, and create lasting change. Together, we’ll work toward building confidence, strength, and freedom so you can live a life guided by your values rather than fear.

As a provider, I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to counseling, rooted in my own experiences as a wife, mother to two wonderful children, and lover of animals. I understand the challenges of balancing family life, personal growth, and the stresses that come with both. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master's degree in Social Work and currently work full-time as a school social worker, where I have the privilege of supporting students through life's challenges. My passion for helping others extends beyond the school setting, which is why I am excited to offer supportive online counseling with the goal of eventually opening an in-person practice to further serve my community. In my free time, I enjoy watching my children play sports and spending time outdoors during the summer months. However, I also love cozying up indoors with a good book or favorite TV show. These personal interests help me relate to the balance of work, family, and self-care that many clients face. I am eager to expand my work from the school environment into the broader community, offering a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges and grow towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Hello, my name Patrick and I served in three combat tours: serving our country for nine years as a United States Marine. I decided to serve those that are mentally ill in 2013 after my tour of service. After 5 years of study and schooling I got my start in 2017 in a dual-disorder treatment center conducting Intensive inpatient/outpatient groups and utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy as an approach to treating mental health disorders. Today, I specialize in taking an eclectic approach to using interventions looking at the holistic approaches to the human dynamic. This means looking at a person’s relationships and/or lack, cognitive schemas, their behaviors and habits, their priorities, and then determining how interventions and treatment plans will be formulated. I look at a person’s self-concept and determine holistically how their behaviors, thoughts, and patterns are contributing to their problems and functioning. The skills and tools of a therapist are the personal characteristics they bring into therapy: empathy, active listening these aren’t just attributes that look good on paper but are verbal and non-verbal forms of communication; and its these skills I believe what enables successful outcomes in therapy.

Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Illinois. I have worked in the mental health field for seventeen years in both hospital and outpatient settings. This experience includes work in direct patient care, program development, and in hospital administration in a clinical director role. I also have taught coursework in psychology and human development in a university setting, and worked in an administrative capacity in secondary education in the state of Illinois. My educational background includes a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. My clinical approach brings behavioral intervention and education together in a clinical setting. I enjoy using psychoeducation as a foundation for treatment. That means I like to focus on educating the patient on their symptoms/diagnosis so we can collaborate on a treatment plan that they understand and makes sense for their life circumstance. If people understand why they experience the symptoms they have and how their body responds to stressors; it can give them the insight necessary to build skills to cope in a healthy and effective way.

I’m Dr. LaTia Greer, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and trauma specialist with over 25 years of experience in mental health and wellness. At Authentic Heart Behavioral Health & Wellness, I provide a safe, compassionate space for clients to heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of balance. My work is deeply rooted in the belief that you don’t have to face life’s struggles alone—healing becomes possible when you feel seen, heard, and supported. I specialize in helping individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as those who feel overwhelmed by the challenge of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck in cycles of stress, guilt, or self-doubt. Together, we explore what’s underneath those struggles and build practical, evidence-based strategies to create real change. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and integrative therapy to fit your unique needs. That means we’ll not only focus on symptom relief but also on deeper emotional healing—supporting you in reconnecting with yourself and building resilience for the future. Clients often tell me that therapy with me feels like a balance of gentle guidance and real-world tools they can apply right away. I’ll meet you where you are, whether you’re seeking relief from constant worry, working through past pain, or learning to say “yes” to yourself without guilt. Most importantly, my goal is to help you move from simply surviving to living with greater confidence, clarity, and peace. Healing is a journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Hello. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to read my profile amongst the many that are out there. With over 20 years of experience as a professional counselor, I've had the privilege of guiding individuals, children to older adult population, through diverse life challenges. My journey as a therapist has taught me that growth and healing are possible at any age. I'm dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space where you can explore your concerns and develop the tools you need to thrive. I’m not a ‘sit and nod’ therapist, I enjoy a dynamic approach with my clients. I believe in a holistic, client-centered approach that blends traditional therapy with innovative strategies. My passion lies in empowering individuals to discover their strengths and create meaningful change. I understand that each person is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. My practice is grounded in the belief that true healing comes from discovering your authentic self. I believe that an over reliance on labels can be a source of stress and limit personal growth. I focus on helping you unhook from those external definitions and embrace the present, allowing you to live more freely and authentically.
