My name is Sabrina Turner. I trained at Bradley University and have 12 years of clinical experience. I focus on issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, and ADHD. Throughout my career I have worked with clients of all ages. I primarily use person centered techniques, but I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness depending on the client. In addition, integrative approaches are helpful to most people, which means we look at your overall nutritional and physical well being in conjunction with your mental health. Asking for help is never easy, but connection and relationships help us lead our best lives. My goal is to help you build healthier coping skills for yourself. What that looks like is different for everyone, but I want to help you find your own unique path. During our first session I will ask you to share some background information with me. It can be difficult to share, so please know that my number one goal is to give you a safe, nonjudgemental space to open up. In subsequent sessions we will dive deeper into your reasons for seeking therapy. We will explore techniques that are already working for you and add in new skills along the way. If you are looking for a clinician to walk alongside you while you discover yourself and how to be your best version, we will likely be a good fit!

Whether you've never tried therapy before or are considering getting back into it, give yourself a pat on the back for taking this first step! I know how hard it can be to prioritize your own mental health, especially when life gets hectic. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I believe in meeting my clients where they're at and providing them a space each week where they can feel heard, understood, and cared for. I believe therapy shouldn't feel like another chore on your to-do list. It should feel like the "me time" you need (and deserve!) to set down the weight of everything you've been carrying so that you can start feeling like yourself again. Whether you're in the middle of a difficult time or grappling with a past that is holding you back, I will be there with you every step of the way to help get you "unstuck" and back to the life you want to be living.

I am a social worker with 25 years of experience supporting clients across the lifespan — from infants and their caregivers to older adults navigating later‑life challenges. My work is grounded in the belief that our thoughts are powerful drivers of our emotions and behaviors. When we learn to understand and reshape those thoughts, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible. Using Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), I help clients harness the power of their thinking to influence how they feel and act in everyday situations. Many people have been taught to “just change their behavior,” and when that doesn’t work, they blame themselves. I guide clients toward a different approach — one that starts with the mind, not with willpower. In our sessions, I use analogies, real‑life examples, and practical tools that clients can immediately apply. My goal is for every session to end with one new tool for their toolbox, something concrete they can practice between sessions. And while the work is meaningful, I believe it can also be engaging — even fun — as clients begin to see themselves and the world through a new, more empowering lens.

Welcome! I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addiction Counselor with more than 20 years of experience—and this work is truly my passion. As someone who came to this as a second career, I consider it an honor and privilege to walk alongside young adults and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. I have found that many people enter therapy not because of a complex mental health issue but because of a general feeling of life not being what they would like it to be. I've been there. Many years ago I embarked on my own personal growth journey and I believe that has made me a more compassionate, empathic therapist. I am very active in the therapeutic process and give direct feedback and suggestions for implementing lifestyle changes. I have been a therapist for over 30 years, specializing primarily in depression/anxiety, relationship issues, and addiction/alcoholism. I believe that pain shared is pain lessened and that people can and do recover from issues that have been troubling them for years. I work with individuals and couples. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach. Think you're ready to start making the changes that you've been thinking about for quite some time? Call me. Let's talk about it. I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression. The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake." I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions. My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.

Feeling like you’re carrying the weight of it all? As women and mothers, we often juggle endless to-do lists, emotional labor, and the invisible “mental load” that keeps everything running yet leaves little room for ourselves. You might be feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or guilty for not doing “enough,” even when you’re giving your all. I work with women who are ready to release the constant pressure to manage it all and reconnect with themselves again. Together, we’ll explore what balance, peace, and fulfillment actually look like for you. My goal is to help you feel grounded, capable, and more like yourself again. My therapeutic style is integrative, blending elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or life transitions. We’ll work to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe space. When we’re able to see things from a different perspective, it helps us find a better solution to the problem. I’m not someone who is going to tell you what to do, but someone who will help you problem solve and find what works best for you. I want to work with you and help you become a better and happier you!

As a Latina, neurodivergent, and Jewish therapist, I understand that our identities influence how we experience relationships, community, belonging, and mental health. I enjoy working with individuals who are exploring the impact of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, neurodivergence, and other important aspects of who they are. Whether you are navigating questions of identity, cultural expectations, discrimination, or self-acceptance, I provide a space where your experiences can be explored with curiosity, respect, and compassion.
