We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers. Sometimes our own mental health can influence all of our relationships, and you may need coping techniques for anxiety and or depression type symptoms. I will work with you individually to help you gain insight to your own behavior that may be influencing your relationship. I am here to help beit coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others.

Psychotherapy is an endeavor that can feel uncomfortable at times, but together we can work to troubleshoot your "hang-ups" and insecurities to smooth out your path ahead. Do you find that no matter how hard you try, you continue to gravitate towards situations that cause you emotional pain, that leave you feeling exposed and vulnerable? Do you wonder why other people in your life seem so happy but you feel like you just can't "get it right?" Do you want to learn more about how and why it sometimes feels like you are your own worst enemy to progress? There is resolution to what you're experiencing and I want to work with you on your personalized quest for growth and safety. What have you been through? What recordings have been stuck on-loop in your mind? What kinds of characters have you crossed paths with in your life? Let's work together to figure it out and get you "un-jammed." I graduated with a Master of Social Work from Tulane University and I am licensed in the state of California to practice independently (LCSW #76380). My work is rooted in warmth, directness, and genuine relational connection, guided by a psychodynamic and attachment-focused lens. I walk alongside individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, drawing on thousands of hours of clinical experience. I work extensively with the lived experience of marginalization—of feeling outcast or never quite belonging—and the internal pressures of a relentless drive to improve or achieve. These are distinct yet often intertwined realities. Clients come to me sensing their struggles run deeper than surface symptoms. No matter how hard they strive, they're met with the same feelings of inadequacy, emptiness, and a deep sense of isolation – Something invisible guides these patterns. My practice focuses on navigating depression, general anxiety, ADHD/neurodivergence, and the lingering effects of childhood adversity and past trauma. What defines our work together isn't just the challenge itself, but how we address it. By attending to attachment wounds and relational trauma—those invisible forces that shape so much of our experiences—we don’t just manage symptoms; we heal the roots. This might look like untangling how early relational experiences fuel your depression or anxiety today; helping ADHD brains thrive by tending to the shame or self-doubt that often accompanies neurodivergence, while building strategies that honor your unique wiring; and transforming childhood adversity and past trauma from a weight you carry into a story you now own. What moves me most profoundly is witnessing clients rediscover the integrity of their selves—not through "fixing," but through coming home to the internal freedom that lets them envision more for their lives. Together, we’ll create space for you to believe in possibility again: to breathe easier, trust yourself, and reclaim those simple joys and wild dreams you inherently held as a child—before the world taught you that you were too much, yet not enough.

Her most recent passion is her blog on Psychology Today (under law and crime) regarding the intersection of law and mental health. She focuses primarily on how legal rulings can impact our mental health, motive, trauma-informed interrogation, and investigation, particularly in domestic violence and sexual assault cases, and the failings of both the legal and mental health systems. Teaching about the realities of what life looks like inside the courtroom for a victim of domestic violence or rape, whether it be to a classroom of students or an audience of readers, is incredibly important to her.

You're an Asian-American professional who has achieved much in your life, and yet, despite all of your successes, you're still unhappy. You find yourself angry with other people, worried about how things will turn out, disappointed when things don't go your way, and frustrated with all of the above. You know that there has to be more to life than your robotic routine, but you haven't been able to figure out what that is yet. I was in the same situation that you're in, and I've learned how to do better. I speak from personal experience, not from book learning. I specialize in helping Asian-American professionals bridge the gap between cultures, overcome their harsh inner critic, and develop true confidence and self-respect. Happiness is your natural birthright. It is my privilege and joy to work with clients and help them discover what is blocking them from the happiness that is already inside of them. If you would like to work with me and discover more of what's in you, please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm a husband, a new father, and an uncle of 5. These are the things I'm the most proud of in my life and they help shape who I am as a person and a therapist. I spent decades helping people with their physical health before transitioning to psychology. I've learned over the years that in order to unlock our highest level of functioning, we have to create a lifestyle that is dedicated to both our mental and physical well-being. My practice objective is to help you create and sustain that lifestyle.
