LPCC, 6 years of experience
Let me break it down: All therapists aim to offer you what is called a “corrective emotional experience”. Simply put, there are 3 ways to go about this: (1) You can get supportive listening. (2) You can try to change your thoughts and behaviors. (3) You can find and let go of stuck feelings from the past. I offer therapy that focuses on (3). I specialize in intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy. It helps people find the roots of their inner struggles, and work through them more quickly. I work session-to-session, which means there are no long term commitments or bookings. Following each session, you can decide if there is more to do together or if you have arrived at your destination.
Before you solve any problem, you need to understand it clearly. Our first task will be to get a very clear and specific shared picture of the symptoms you are currently experiencing, and how they are impacting your quality of life. Next, we will see what forces are driving these symptoms.
You will notice I am compassionate, focused, and direct. I will challenge you to cut through the background noise. I will stay with you every step of the way, wherever it leads us.
Have you been to therapy before but were left underwhelmed? Are you looking for MORE than just coping skills and supportive listening? If so, maybe you're looking for a more dynamic therapy experience. Is this way of doing therapy more challenging? Yes. Is it worth it for you? Frankly, there's only one way to find out.
Together we will pay close attention to your moment-to-moment experience in a curious, non-judgemental way.
Effective treatment must address mind and body in session as they are inextricably linked.
Parts work can bring additional value and impact to the therapy session.
