Simply put, there are 3 main things you can get out of therapy: (1) You can get supportive listening. (2) You can try to change your thoughts and behaviors. (3) You can find and let go of stuck feelings from the past. I offer therapy that focuses on (3). I specialize in intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP). It helps people find the roots of their inner struggles, and work through them more quickly.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I work session-to-session, which means there are no long term commitments or bookings. Following each session, you can decide if there is more to do together or if you have arrived at your destination. Our first task will be to get a very clear and specific shared picture of the symptoms you are currently experiencing, and how they are impacting your quality of life.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
You will notice I am compassionate, focused, and direct. I will challenge you to cut through the background noise. I will stay with you every step of the way, wherever it leads us.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Have you been to therapy before but were left underwhelmed? Are you looking for MORE than just coping skills and supportive listening? If so, maybe you're looking for a more dynamic therapy experience. Is this way of doing therapy more challenging? Yes. Is it worth it for you? Frankly, there's only one way to find out.
