Here's a hard truth about mental health: Even with all the different approaches to psychotherapy out there, it rarely results in lasting positive change for those that seek it. Ouch. That's why I specialize in intensive short-term psychotherapy. It has been shown to help people find the roots of their emotional difficulties, and work through them in briefer time frames. Why wait years for greater peace of mind if you don't have to?
Before you solve any problem, you first need to name it clearly. Our first task will be to get a very clear and specific shared picture of the problem you are currently experiencing, and how it is impacting your quality of life. Even if you've lived with a problem for many years, this is very often a new experience for clients.
In session, you will notice I am compassionate, direct, and focused. I will challenge you to cut through the background noise and go deeper. I will stay with you every step of the way, wherever it leads us.
Have you been to therapy before but were left underwhelmed? Are you looking for more than just coping tricks and a supportive weekly chat? If so, maybe you're looking for a different experience: something more advanced. Is it more challenging? Yes. Is it worth it? Honestly, there's only one way to find out.
AEDP and ISTDP are powerful models towards significant positive change in briefer time frames.
Together we will pay close attention to your moment-to-moment experience in a curious, non-judgemental way.
