Allison Glatstein
With over 15 years of experience in professional and clinical settings, I specialize in supporting parents as they navigate the transitions and complexities of modern parenting. I offer a grounded, compassionate, and culturally sensitive space where parents can slow down, feel understood, and make sense of the emotional demands of raising children today. Drawing from both my clinical expertise and lived experience as a mother, I help parents explore relational patterns shaped by early caregiving experiences and how these dynamics show up in moments of stress, with the goal of fostering greater awareness, presence, and intentional connection in family life.
First session
In our first session, my goal is simply to get to know you and what brings you here—there’s no pressure to have it all figured out. I’ll invite you to share at your own pace, and we’ll begin to gently explore the challenges, stressors, and hopes you have for your parenting and relationships. Many people feel nervous starting therapy, and I want you to know you don’t have to show up in any particular way—just as you are is enough. By the end of our first session, you will feel some initial relief from being met and supported exactly where you are, along with a clear sense of next steps.
Strengths
I bring a rare blend of clinical expertise, lived parenting experience, and relational depth that makes my work both highly credible and deeply human.
Ideal clients
I support both new & seasoned parents navigating pregnancy, postpartum emotions, identity shifts, and the pressure to “do parenting right,” while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected. My clients are often thoughtful and growth-oriented, open to support, and want both emotional relief and practical tools to feel more confident and connected in their parenting. Many are balancing careers, relationships, and modern expectations, and are seeking a space where they feel truly seen and supported.
Treatment methods
Relational
I use a relational approach, which means we’ll look at how themes & patterns show up across your relationships—at home, at work, and with yourself. Once we identify patterns, we slow them down, understand what’s underneath them, and practice new ways of responding.
Compassion-Focused
I bring compassion into our sessions by creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and not judged, especially in the moments that feel hardest to talk about. Together, we’ll meet your experiences with curiosity and kindness, so you can begin to relate to yourself with more understanding instead of criticism.
Attachment-based
I use attachment-based interventions to help you understand how your early relationship experiences shape the way you connect with others today. Together, we’ll build more secure, supportive patterns in how you relate—both in your relationships and in how you respond to yourself.
