What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will likely have some general administrative introductory conversation- expectations, safety measures, how to communicate between appointments or missed or rescheduled sessions. I might describe in a little more detail how I do therapy (or if you have questions about it) and after that, there will be a lot of getting your history, what made you decide that now was the time for therapy and identifying specific goals you'd like to reach or changes you want to make. Mainly, how will we know you've met that goal? If we have time after that, we can talk about outlining a treatment plan or wait until the next session to solidify the road map.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've honed the skills of "say what you mean, mean what you say, don't say it mean." I'll tell you what you need to hear and not what I think you want to hear and do so in a way that is kind and firm. I'm also open to feedback from clients because it's a powerful way to practice humility and honesty but also allows the therapeutic relationship to grow in trust and safety. After all, if you can't trust me as your therapist, how can I help you grow?

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients who’ve thrived while working with Diana have had ADHD, recovering from various addictions, codependency, complex trauma, imposter syndrome, generalized anxiety, difficulty feeling feelings and generally feeling stuck and are looking to make changes

My treatment methods

Somatic

While it can be helpful to read all of the books, learn all of the techniques and know all of the things, it's not until we sense it internally that it becomes real. Somatic experiencing is a therapeutic style I use to help clients practice becoming more aware of their body signals that have long been ignored or overworked and learn how to treat feelings and emotions as a friend.

Eclectic

Therapy is not a one size fits all. In order to get the most out of therapy sessions and our work together, I'll draw techniques from various types of therapies that I've been trained in including EMDR, CBT, play therapy and somatic experiencing. What this means is that your sessions are uniquely tailored to your strengths and your needs. Some sessions will have more talking, some may have more feeling the feels.
