As a first generation Chicanx living in Los Angeles, I understand the challenges that communities face when they are unfairly targeted and left out. With my degree from USC School of Social Work and over a decade of experience, my goal is to empower my clients. I want them to feel confident, secure in their identities, and truly part of a supportive community.
Clients can expect the first sessions to take things slow, focusing on introductions and understanding what brings the client to therapy. We will work together to create a personalized treatment plan that caters to the client's unique needs and strengths.
Clients have expressed their appreciation for my therapy style, noting its compassionate and understanding nature, as well as its non-judgmental and flexible approach. I also make a point of working closely and intentionally with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan.
I have a special focus on working with young adults navigating the transition into adulthood, as well as with first-generation college students and recent graduates. These individuals are coping with significant life changes, while also juggling relationships, personal aspirations, and external expectations. My clients display tremendous resilience and have the tools needed to navigate life's transitions; they just need support in learning when and how to best use them.
In my practice as a clinician, I embrace a strength-based therapy approach. My aim is to support you in recognizing the skills and inner strength that you may already possess, empowering you to navigate difficult situations with resilience. I genuinely believe that every individual harbors character strengths that, when harnessed intentionally, can bring about positive change for themselves and those around them.
I approach my sessions with a focus on diversity, gender issues, and sexism, with a commitment to both individual and social change. As a feminist therapist, I aim to empower those who feel silenced or oppressed by honoring and elevating their voices.
