Hi! I'm Celeste and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California. I received my master's degree from the University of South Carolina (go gamecocks!) in 2020 and since then, have worked in a variety of different fields, including hospice and all levels of mental healthcare including inpatient, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient. While I believe you're the expert on you, I am here to provide support, a safe place to grow, and a fresh perspective!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I'd like to get to know your reason for pursuing therapy and the goals you have! I like to hear about clients' experiences in therapy and general life history. We will also cover informed consent and logistics, should you continue to book with me as your therapist -- things like safety precautions, setting expectations, confidentiality, etc.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Flexibility, open-mindedness, and integrity. I strive to give the best possible care that I can while meeting clients where they are in the process of making change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
While I love having clients that are motivated to be in therapy, it can be difficult, and I am willing to walk alongside you if you're not 100% there yet! Most of my experience has been with teens and their families in a residential setting, so I am well-equipped for navigating life after crisis or higher levels of care.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT helps by learning ways to increase value-based decision making and psychological flexibility to manage parts of your life outside of your control.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT offers great concrete skills related to its 4 main tenets: emotional regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
Motivational Interviewing
This a client-centered approach that helps assess and encourage your sense of readiness towards goals and making changes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT can be helpful if you have a lot of negative self-talk or general thinking errors!
Attachment-based
This involves looking at your attachment style and its impact on how you navigate relationships. Your attachment style is developed by interactions with your primary caregiver at a young age.
