New to Grow
In our work together, we will collaborate to learn to compassionately observe and change dysfunctional physical, mental, and emotional patterns that are keeping us stuck. We will work to help you to feel empowered to consciously create a life on your own terms, shift from self judgement to self compassion, and (most importantly) stop taking shit to yourself. I have over 9 years of experience working with children, individuals, and families that have experienced trauma and challenging life experiences. I work with individuals that may be struggling with depression, anxiety, low self esteem, life stage transitions, new motherhood, relationship challenges, or traumatic experiences.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The most important goal for the first session is to determine if we feel that it is a good fit. We will collaborate regarding goals and discuss a treatment plan that is individual for you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I truly believe that we can never stop learning. I believe that one of my greatest strengths (both individually and professionally) is to continue to learn.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is the most important factor that determines success in therapy. Because of this, the first goal of therapy will be to determine if we feel we are a good fit. I enjoy working with individuals that are faced with a range of challenges, specifically: trauma, depression, anxiety, self esteem, and life stage transitions. We will work together to determine the best course of treatment, learn new skills to manage challenges and improve coping, and really explore where these challenges come from and what is allowing them to continue.
EMDR
I am passionate about utilizing and teaching clients about EMDR and ways it can support in their individual treatment goals. I have seen EMDR support many different therapeutic challenges including trauma, anxiety, self esteem, and relationship issues. EMDR is used in my practice (in person and virtually) often to address challenging situations that are impacting core beliefs and current wellness.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe that a person centered, non judgmental space that allows for a genuine relationship to develop can make all of the difference. While I may suggest more directive approaches, this would always be collaborated on with my clients allowing for the person centered approach to take priority.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Have you ever said or heard someone say "a part of me wants to do X and a part of me wants to do Y?" Let's explore that! I love supporting people in getting to know their parts and their systems through use of internal family systems. I believe this framework creates so much self understanding, awareness, and compassion.
