Angelica Zamora

LMFT8 years of experience

I never imagined becoming a therapist, but life gently led me in this direction. Being married to a combat veteran gave me personal insight into the impact of trauma and the importance of healing. My work in the community deepened that understanding and inspired me to become a therapist. I love what I do and feel honored to support others.

First session

I take a compassionate and culturally aware approach, meeting you where you are and helping you work through challenges like anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and life changes. I use practical tools to support healing and growth, and I make sure you feel heard, respected, and empowered every step of the way.

Strengths

I support adults, children, and families who are navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, and the impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish so clients can express themselves in the language that feels most natural and authentic. My approach is collaborative and grounded in compassion. I see therapy as a partnership where we identify what matters most to you—whether that’s healing from trauma, managing anxiety, strengthening relationships, or building healthier coping skills. Together, we set clear goals and use practical, evidence‑based tools that support real progress. As you grow, I adjust our work to make sure it continues to feel meaningful, supportive, and effective.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is doing their best to navigate life’s stressors but feels overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. I work especially well with clients who are thoughtful, self‑aware, and motivated for change—even if they’re unsure where to begin. Many of my clients come in carrying anxiety, trauma responses, relationship stress, or a sense of losing themselves while caring for others. I’m best positioned to support individuals who want a space where they feel genuinely heard and respected, and who are open to exploring their emotions, patterns, and strengths at a pace that feels safe. My ideal client is not expected to have clear goals on day one; together, we clarify what healing, balance, and growth can look like for them. Whether someone is working through trauma, building healthier boundaries, improving emotional regulation, or reconnecting with their identity, I help clients move toward a more grounded, empowered version of themselves.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT in a practical, supportive way to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect. In sessions, we identify unhelpful patterns, explore triggers, and build coping skills clients can use in real life. I integrate grounding tools, somatic awareness, and thought‑reframing so clients feel more in control of their emotions and daily stress. My approach is trauma‑informed and collaborative, adapting CBT techniques to each client’s needs and goals.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I approach therapy with deep respect for each client’s cultural background, lived experiences, and identity. I take time to understand how culture, family values, language, and community shape a person’s emotional world. In sessions, I adapt my interventions so clients feel seen, understood, and supported in ways that honor who they are. My goal is to create a space where clients don’t have to explain or defend their culture, they can simply be themselves.

Humanistic

I ground my work in a humanistic approach by creating a space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. I focus on building a trusting relationship, honoring each person’s lived experience, and supporting them at their own pace. My goal is to help clients connect with their strengths and move toward growth in a way that feels authentic and empowering.

Attachment-based

I approach therapy through an attachment lens, helping clients understand how early relationships shape their current patterns, emotions, and sense of safety. I focus on creating a secure, trusting space where clients can explore their needs, boundaries, and fears without judgment. My goal is to support clients in developing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I integrate Trauma‑Focused CBT by helping clients understand how trauma has shaped their thoughts, emotions, and sense of safety. In session, we move at a pace that feels comfortable, combining grounding skills, cognitive restructuring, and gentle exposure to reduce distress and build confidence. My goal is to help clients feel more empowered, regulated, and in control of their healing.
