Thank you for stopping by! A little about myself. I am a mother, grandmother, and dog mom to 2 Jack Russel's. (They haven't eaten the couch yet :) I grew up in foster care and was adopted in my teens. That path led me through my own therapeutic journey as I struggled with depression and anxiety. As I found wellness, I launched into social work to support families, and eventually here, as a licensed therapist. I have been working with Individuals and families in various therapeutic settings for over 25 years. If you decide I may be a good fit for you and wish to book a spot, lets make sure we can coordinate a time that works best with your schedule on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. My work hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Please know that the open days you see are the only days and times available. So, for example, if you book on a Tuesday at 10 am that would be the weekly day and time you are indicating you can commit to. Please know you may not be able to switch the time to another day/time. Also feel free to message me through your portal if you need a different time/day. We will try to make it work.
I will review your intake forms you have completed prior to our first session. We will then review HIPPA and privacy rights first, then your mental health history, triggers and trauma events, medications, physical health, and self-care strategies. Then we will establish a few achievable short term and long term therapeutic goals that will support your desired long term life aspirations.
Like others, my many life experiences have included the good, the bad, the ugly events that have equipped me with knowledge, wisdom, empathy and passion to support those in a different phase of their life journey.
I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds that would benefit from Strength-based, CBT, Narrative, and Solution-Focused modalities through caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental support to address such issues as historical trauma, relationship conflicts, depression, anxiety, anger and stress management, grief and loss, low self-esteem, communication skills, and parenting challenges, as well as effective support for foster/adoption related challenges. Please know I do not work with PTSD or addiction recovery. Our time together will be in a safe space where your cultural values and right to self-determination will be honored with the goal of supporting you in overcoming the challenges that are a barrier to achieving your personal sense of peace and passion. We will work together in this therapeutic journey as you set goals, identify barriers, take responsibility for personal choices, and then apply practical tools and exercises to achieve your best self. I worked for several years as a Parent Partner, assisting both foster parents and biological parents struggling with their children's behavioral challenges that put their children at risk for physical harm and/or contact with the Juvenile Justices system. With these personal and professional experiences, I can often bring effective support to the parenting and foster parenting community.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), simply stated, provides tools that bring insight and understanding to why we do what we do-the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly.
