(she/her)
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the world around you, and equally overwhelmed by the idea of pausing to tend to your big feelings? Do you feel stuck and not sure how to move forward towards the authentic life and relationships you long for? In a world that can often feel too fast, too disconnected, and too unfeeling, I believe deeply in the healing power of slowing down and reconnecting to ourselves, and to each other. You deserve a soft place to land, a space that feels both safe and brave, where your feelings and needs can finally take up the space they deserve. I’m here to remind you that you are not broken. You are a deeply feeling human, doing your best to cope with the stressors and pain that have come your way. We all go through experiences that can throw off our sense of self-worth, balance, and belonging. With a little help, we can learn to let go of patterns that are no longer working, and find our way back to the truth, beauty, and strength of who we are. You do not have to navigate through this challenging season on your own. In our work together, we’ll explore creative and evidence-based techniques to help you release limiting beliefs, deepen your resilience, and live into a life that you love.
I work from a culturally-affirming, holistic, and trauma-informed lens. In short, this means I will hold space for all the parts of you and your story. I will always center your voice and your choice in our work. As we begin, you can expect to be met with compassion and my true desire to understand you, your challenges, your strengths, and hopes for your future. Whether it’s the lingering pain of a past trauma, loss, or current stressor, we’ll work collaboratively to identify what’s getting in the way of living the life you want to live, and then create goals to help you get there. Depending on your needs, I’ll offer expressive arts, mindfulness and somatic tools to support you in your journey.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also integrate expressive arts and somatic approaches: Expressive Arts (EXA)- combines visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing and other creative processes to foster healing. The emphasis is on the creative process, not on the final product, so no previous background in the arts is needed. Tapping into the language of creativity can help us access and express our inner experience in a way that talking alone can not. Somatics- In this approach, client’s will learn how to better listen to their body and develop confidence in their capacity to regulate their sensations and emotions using body-based tools. As a body-centered therapist, I integrate a variety of somatic practices, such as EMDR, Trauma Resiliency Method and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
I believe my greatest gift is my capacity to attune to the whole person-mind, body, heart and spirit. I believe you are more than a collection of symptoms and a diagnosis. You are more than your challenges, you are also your strengths. I will help you hold the pain, while also holding the hope. I am honored and humbled to walk alongside folks through their healing journeys and to help reflect back the light and strength I see in them. I am especially passionate about supporting adolescent and young adult creatives, empaths, neurodivergent and highly sensitive people in honoring their needs and embracing their gifts. I’m also drawn to support those that are moving through life transitions or loss, and working to make sense of new realities or new identities.
I am particularly interested in working with young women and non-binary folks (ages 10-30s), especially those that identify as empaths, neurodivergent or highly sensitive people.
