I help people overcome issues that might prevent them from leading healthy, fulfilled lives. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, and Client Focused therapy as well. It takes courage to start therapy, but I have seen those who do and apply themselves, come out with a greater understanding of self, and many times with new tools to help them relate better with others in their lives. I look forward to helping you on your “Therapy Journey.”
In our first session, I like to get to know you and your concerns. After this we work together to come up with a goal and begin to form a plan for reaching your goals.
I have an educational background in teaching elementary school and, and also am familiar with school issues that come up for parents and their children. I also have a backagroud in faith-based counseling and spiritual formation.
I enjoy focusing on individuals in student populations of upper elementary through college, young adults/older adults and those with relationship issues. I also like focusing on those who would prefer a faith-based approach to therapy.
I like using the CBT, due to its effectiveness and well researched track record. CBT is especially helpful in dealing with Anxiety, Depression, and development of Coping Skills. This will take the form of better understanding your concerns through learning more about your challenges, and specified readings that targets CBT techniques.
