Hi, my name is Elizabeth Rohskothen and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been practicing for over 17 years. I’m certified in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I create a safe and inviting atmosphere for clients, enabling them to feel comfortable and clearly understood. My friendliness, compassion for people, direct approach, and positive attitude greatly benefits my clients. I enjoy working with individuals on anxiety reduction, improving self-esteem, and providing faith-based counseling.
During our first session, we will look at how you are feeling and what you would like to work on in therapy. We will look at different strategies that are effective for you and work together to customize a plan to help you towards your goals. Some skills I teach are Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, Mindfulness and Interpersonal Effectiveness skills derived from DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help address unhelpful thinking.
I have over 17 years of experience and what I offer is authenticity, knowledge and support. I work with clients to find the best strategies that work for them, not something that is cookie cutter.
I love working with clients who are motivated to improve their mental health. They have some challenges with anxiety and depression but see the value in mental health. Some want a therapist who is aligned spiritually with their same beliefs and values. Open to learning DBT skills as needed that can help them regulate their emotions.
I utilize faith based practices to support you. I have background and experience practicing Christian Counseling for past 19 years. We will work together on the connection between mind and spirituality.
I have been utilizing CBT for past 19 years to help you manage anxiety and depression. We will look at the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behavior. We will examine automatic thoughts and core beliefs to help you feel better.
I’m certified in (DBT) - Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have been using DBT in individual therapy and skills group for past 14 years. I have been helping clients manage their emotions and behaviors utilizing DBT skills.
