About me

Hi and welcome! I’m Krista Hebert, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Southern California. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Cal State Long Beach and my master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. I have worked with at-risk youth, children and adolescents, parents, and people with disabilities. I’ve worked across a range of settings but predominantly in school-based mental health. After having a baby, I took about a year off work and I’m excited to return to my passion of providing meaningful therapy in the Telehealth setting. I’m so glad you’re here and taking the next step into finding healing, insight and growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to connect in a safe and supportive environment. I want you to feel seen and heard. I’ll invite you to share what is bringing you to therapy, your challenges and what you hope to gain from participating in therapy. You can also ask me any questions or concerns you might have about this process. Together, we will determine if this feels like the right connection and begin to outline and plan for our therapy sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I would describe myself as a warm, empathetic listener with the ability to be honest and identify patterns that may be causing stress or anxiety. My hope is to help you feel safe enough to let down those walls and begin to process what you’re going through. One of my strengths is being able to pick up on the moments you may need a listening ear or the times when you may need a little push.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you’re open to self-reflection and taking steps towards self-growth then we may be a great fit. I have also worked with many people who were resistant or unsure about the therapeutic process, so I am more than willing to help you explore those feelings as well. Either way, if you want a safe space to process feelings or identify healthier ways to cope with life stressors then you are at the right place.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT by teaching mindfulness skills so that you can be more present and manage intense emotions. DBT also helps you understand why you're feeling things so intensely and how you can manage those emotions in healthier ways.

Attachment-based

I use attachment therapy to help you understand how childhood relationships/bonds are shaping current emotions and relationships. We can explore emotions surrounding relationships and identify patterns that may be causing difficult emotions or behaviors.
