Do you long for more joy and meaning in life? Do you compare and judge resulting in self-doubt and unhappiness? Does your dissatisfaction affect your primary relationships negatively? These are just a few reasons why people decide to try psychotherapy. I can offer you a safe space and a gentle approach to exploring your inner world and finding new and constructive ways of relating to yourself and others. After being licensed in 1984, I worked in private practice and community agencies, taught parenting classes, supervised interns and ran an in-school counseling program for over 30 years. Currently, in private practice, I work with parents, couples, families and individuals. I bring to the psychotherapy room, compassion, years of experience, evidence-based techniques, and a passion for helping others on their journey to find more peace and happiness in their lives.
In our first session, we will get to know each other. I will ask lots of questions and you will have a chance to ask questions and explain what you want out of therapy. With time we build a trusting relationship that allows the client to "let go" and truly express their authentic self. This starts the process of healing and self-realization.
The quality of the client/therapist relationship is the most important aspect of the therapy process. Once the clinical relationship is solid and the client feels safe and trusts, the work begins.
I believe my love of the work, compassion and years of experience are my biggest strengths.
