Have you been wondering if your current challenges are due to past traumatic life events? Do you struggle in relationships? If so, I may be the Therapist for you. I specialize in trauma therapy for teenagers and adults. Many people often think trauma is only caused by violent crimes, acts of physical abuse, or natural disasters. They may also think because trauma happened a long time ago, it does not affect them in the present. These are a few of the myths about trauma. There are many types of traumas such as the sudden or unexpected death of a loved one, bullying, retaliation in the workplace, neglect from parents, infidelity, intimate partner violence, the witnessing of domestic violence and more. If you or your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, or life stressors, therapy with me can help with positive changes to strengthen self-esteem and confidence. I am trained in EMDR and other trauma therapy approaches. My years of professional experience as a teacher and counselor, along with my lived experiences as a Black person allow me to provide empathetic regard while helping clients from multicultural backgrounds.

Very easy to talk to, uplifting, wise, very positive, open minded, and warm. Having an unbiased ear to listen and talk to, really helps a person mentally. I look forward to my sessions although I wish sessions were 2 hours instead of 1.

Ms.Florence is very empathetic and offer me solutions to work through my anxiety and depression. I never feel judged, the sessions are free flowing (including the release of tears); but it’s freeing. I would recommend her for sure!
