Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is a structured evidenced based approach that integrates cognitive behavioral techniques with mindfulness principles. My experience includes: helping clients develop skills in emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness and distress tolerance which are the core modules of DBT. I teach and model skills, incorporate mindfulness, structure sessions and track progress by using diary cards, client feedback and adjusting interventions as needed.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I use CBT by assessing cognitive patterns to identify unhealthy distorted or unhelpful thoughts that influence behaviors and emotions, teach practical skills such as behavioral activation and exposure techniques, setting structured goals, assigning homework and monitoring outcomes.
Faith based therapy
In my practice, I use faith based therapy by exploring client's spiritual beliefs and how they relate to their mental health and life challenges, incorporate prayer, scripture and spiritual reflection, integrate values and moral frameworks to support decision making, coping and personal growth, collaborate with clients to balance faith-based guidance and encourage spiritual resources.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
In my practice, I use SFBT to help clients identify clear and achieveable goals and envision desired outcomes. Focus on client's strengths and past successes, use solution-oriented questions, encourage small practice steps toward solutions and tracking progress and maintain a brief, focused, approach that maximize results while minimizing unnecessary exploration of problems.
Motivational Interviewing
In my practice, I engage clients in a collaborative dialogue to explore ambivalence and readiness for change. Use reflective listening and open-ended questions to explore, support self-efficacy, guide clients towards actionable steps without imposing change.
