Hello! I am Dr. Efrain Zepeda. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Social Worker. In the past 23 years of working as a mental health professional, one important lesson I have learned is that the most powerful therapeutic intervention is found in the interpersonal experience that occurs in the client-therapist relationship. Together we can analyze the past to co-create a new meaning to achieve healing. I strongly believe that therapy is not about labeling or judging, but rather about personal discovery.
Throughout these years I have worked with individuals, families, and couples using an empathetic and compassionate approach. This approach has allowed them to pave the path toward self-growth, self-agency, and self-efficacy. I specialize in attachment dynamics, trauma-based conditions, and behavioral as well as cognitive challenges.
Additionally, I am a Certified Sexual Compulsion Specialist, I implement behavioral interventions to decrease compulsions and maladaptive behaviors. I am also a certified Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Practitioner who has also been trained to use Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.
One of my strengths is the ability to combine interpersonal therapeutic skills with emotionally-focused treatment to increase awareness and empathy.
