I am Dr. Natashia Gridiron, “Dr. G.” I am a licensed psychologist and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My work experience includes executive leadership and program development across forensic, correctional, community, and private practice settings- BUT, my heart is working with individuals, couples, and families. I feel empowered by helping my clients feel more empowered to navigate life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and resilience. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel comfortable sharing their stories, exploring their thoughts and emotions, and taking meaningful steps toward growth. My goal is to help each person I work with build insight, develop practical tools, and move closer to becoming the best version of themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, you’ll meet someone who is down-to-earth, approachable, and genuinely interested in getting to know you beyond just the surface. I use my clinical training and assessment skills to understand not only what you’re saying, but also what you’re feeling underneath it all—I listen for both your words and your heart. Our conversation will feel natural and comfortable, not rigid or overwhelming. Together, we’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’d like to see change, and what matters most to you. From there, we’ll begin to shape a clear and meaningful plan for our work together—one that feels realistic, supportive, and motivating. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What truly stands out about my approach is my ability to combine professional expertise with warmth and genuine connection. I describe my therapeutic style as flexible, relatable, and grounded in meeting people where they are. I focus on creating a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. One of my greatest strengths is helping individuals recognize and shift patterns that may be holding them back, while also encouraging self-compassion and confidence along the way. My approach is both thoughtful and empowering, allowing my clients to feel supported as they make lasting, positive changes in their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are willing to show up and try, even if they’re not sure where to begin. You don’t have to have everything figured out—just a willingness to be present and open to the process. In our work together, we practice grace—with ourselves and with each other—recognizing that growth takes time, patience, and compassion. We focus on building a genuine, trusting relationship where you can feel safe to be honest about your experiences, challenges, and hopes. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel truly heard and understood. Within that space, we can explore patterns, develop new perspectives, and build the tools you need to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. My goal is for you to feel empowered—not just in our sessions, but in your everyday life—as you create meaningful and lasting change.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I use psychodynamic theory to understand how past experiences and relationships influence what clients are going through today, helping them make connections that lead to greater insight and change. A psychodynamic approach means we look beyond surface-level symptoms and explore the deeper patterns that may be shaping your thoughts, emotions, and relationships—often outside of your immediate awareness. Together, we pay attention to themes that show up over time, including early life experiences, significant relationships, and recurring emotional responses. This process isn’t about blaming the past, but about understanding it in a way that empowers you in the present. As these connections become clearer, many clients find they are able to respond to life with more intention, break unhelpful patterns, and experience a stronger sense of clarity, confidence, and emotional freedom

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In addition to Psychodynamic approach, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide practical tools that support meaningful, measurable progress. CBT focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, helping us identify patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, or feeling stuck. Together, we work to gently challenge unhelpful thoughts and develop new ways of responding that feel more balanced and supportive. This approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, giving you strategies you can use in your daily life while also allowing us to track your progress over time. Many clients appreciate that CBT offers concrete steps and a clear sense of movement forward, helping you feel more empowered and confident as you create lasting change.

Gottman method

I have completed two of the three levels in the Gottman Method certification track and use this research-based approach to support couples in strengthening their relationships. The Gottman Method is grounded in decades of research and focuses on helping partners improve communication, manage conflict more effectively, and deepen their emotional connection. In our work together, we build practical skills to increase understanding, rebuild trust, and create a stronger, more supportive partnership. I also have training in sex therapy, which allows me to support couples in improving both emotional and physical intimacy. This includes creating a safe, respectful space to explore concerns around connection, desire, and communication, with the goal of helping partners feel more aligned, understood, and fulfilled in their relationship
