Sometimes what we need most is a place where we can finally feel genuinely heard. I believe therapy is about more than only managing symptoms. It’s also about understanding yourself and making sense of the experiences and patterns that shape how you think, feel, and respond to the world around you. I aim to create a warm, collaborative environment where you feel safe talking openly and feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we’ll slow down and make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We’ll work on recognizing patterns, considering new perspectives, and developing a better understanding of yourself without becoming defined by what you’re going through. From there, we’ll work toward meaningful change that feels authentic to you.

Hi, I’m Ciera, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping people slow down, make sense of their experiences, and reconnect with themselves in more authentic ways. Do you ever feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by stress and self-doubt? You don't have to navigate that alone; therapy can be a space to better understand those experiences and begin moving toward lasting change. I believe healing happens when you feel understood, supported, and empowered to explore what’s been holding you back. Because every person’s story and needs are different, I tailor therapy to fit each client’s unique experiences and goals. Together, we’ll work toward greater clarity, emotional resilience, and a stronger connection with yourself. When I’m not in session, you can usually find me recharging with a good book, spending time with loved ones, or moving my body through exercise. Just like my clients, I know life can feel like “too much” at times, but it can also be a place of growth, possibility, and meaning. My focus is to walk alongside you as you discover what that looks like for you.

I am Danelle King, MSW, LCSW, and for over 30 years I have been dedicated to walking alongside individuals and couples and families as they navigate life’s challenges. With a natural gift for nurturing and support, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where my clients can be open and honest without fear of criticism. I believe that healing begins with honesty, and I am gentle in my approach, offering genuine feedback and personalized guidance tailored to each person’s unique circumstances. My work is focused on helping clients address problematic behaviors, process traumatic experiences, and manage specific mental health diagnoses. I draw not only on professional expertise, but also on my personal experiences of resilience and connection. As a wife and mother to nine wonderful children—three of whom joined our family through adoption from foster care—I understand the complexities of family dynamics, love, and healing. My love for animals also enriches my life and reminds me daily of the importance of joy, balance, and unconditional care. Faith plays a central role in both my personal life and my work as a therapist. I believe that spirituality can be a powerful source of strength, hope, and renewal. I often integrate faith into therapy, helping them draw on their beliefs as a foundation for healing and growth. I see faith as a guidepost for resilience, compassion, and purpose, and I consider it a privilege to incorporate these values into the therapeutic journey.

Are you ready to make a change? I'm Cheri Counterman, LCSW. I've been working as a therapist and medical social worker for over a decade. I've worked with clients who have had a wide range of concerns like depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, trauma, and many more. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with several years of experience providing trauma-informed therapy. My work mainly focuses on helping clients understand and manage the effects of trauma, chronic stress, and overwhelming life events. As a military spouse, I have firsthand insight into how prolonged uncertainty, transitions, and cumulative stress impact individuals, which informs my compassionate and grounded approach to care. I use evidence-based, trauma-focused methods to help clients develop emotional regulation, boost self-awareness, and regain safety and stability. Many clients face anxiety, relationship issues, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, or trauma-related patterns. Therapy is a collaborative process, carefully paced to let clients participate comfortably without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Earlier in my career, I mainly worked with children and adolescents. Currently, I focus on supporting adults and couples, while still working with teen clients. This experience helps me understand how early experiences, attachment styles, and relationship dynamics can affect current functioning and relationships. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and respectful therapeutic environment where clients can freely explore their experiences, acquire practical coping skills, and progress toward healing at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

I specialize in trauma recovery and a deeper understanding of grief, one that recognizes that loss isn’t just about death, but about any life-altering change that leaves a void. Trauma doesn’t just live in the past, it lives in our dreams, our bodies, and the gaps in our memories. If you are experiencing ‘forgotten’ memories, bad dreams, or the aftermath of sexual abuse, you don’t have to carry that weight alone. Whether your pain feels loud or like a quiet, persistent void, I provide a compassionate space to process these "invisible" wounds.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Indiana. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Indiana from Fort Wayne to Evansville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Indiana.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
