Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps us understand the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Many of the beliefs and coping strategies we have developed are rooted in past experiences and learned perceptions. These were created to help us navigate difficult situations. Together we will identify patterns that may no longer serve you, by challenging unhelpful thought patterns that may no longer be serving you.
Trauma Informed Care
In providing trauma informed care, I begin with compassion, connection and understanding using a collaborative, strengths-based approach. We will work together to identify and explore behaviors that have been developed as adaptive responses to difficult experiences, rather than personal shortcomings. By recognizing and understand these patterns we can work together to reduce shame, build resilience, and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting.
EMDR
We all carry stories about ourselves that were shaped by our life experiences. Sometimes those stories leave us believing we are not good enough, safe enough, or worthy enough. Through EMDR, we work together to understand where those beliefs came from, process the experiences that gave them power, and create space for healing. The goal is not to erase the past, but to reduce its emotional weight so you can move forward with greater confidence, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of who you are.
