New to Grow
In 2008, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. After 10 months of treatment, I realized I wanted to work with other cancer fighters and their loved ones. Since my career change to social work and therapy, my experience has broadened to include refugee resettlement, hospice social work, medical social work, and trauma-informed therapy. I am passionate about supporting my clients through grief, trauma, chronic and terminal illness, anxiety, depression, couples counseling, family therapy, and parent training. My goal is to foster an environment where my clients feel supported, validated, and empowered.
I am here to listen and understand your story as well as walk alongside you in terms of what you want to change. I will also help you set intentions around your time outside of our sessions as well.
I have a good balance between being compassionate and direct. I hold the space for my clients to vent but also hold them accountable and challenge them in a healthy way. I am patient in the process but also always have the goal of counseling myself out of a job with you.
One of my main niches is working with cancer fighters - newly diagnosed, their loved ones, and people who have gone into remission. I also am very passionate about grief - not just around the death of loved ones but around any transition in life - job loss, graduation, retirement, break-ups, separations, and divorces, etc. I am very invested in helping clients through anxiety and depression, and I very much enjoy doing family therapy, couples counseling, and parent training as well.
