Effective counseling is about learning through engagement; I actively create a supportive space, offering practical tools to help you increase self-awareness, deepen your understanding of your life, strengths, and hurdles, and collaborate with you to achieve your desired change. I also thoroughly enjoy working with couples in all seasons looking to deepen their connection. I hold both Gottman Level 1 & 2 marital counseling training certifications and have facilitated thousands of hours of sessions for couples looking to create a solid framework for the future, balance daily tasks amidst the chaos, or rediscover their spark. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Together, we'll explore what's been getting in your way, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that help you create the life you want, free from addiction. Greetings, It has always been my desire to serve and bring out the best in people. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts, my commitment to this work is both personal and professional. Growing up with two parents who struggled with addiction, I experienced anxiety and depression at an early age and made a conscious choice not to become a product of my environment. Instead, I chose a different path , one rooted in healing, understanding and helping others find their way through difficult chapters of their own lives. My lifelong interest in human behavior and emotional functioning led me into this field, where I strive to help clients gain clarity, develop meaningful coping skills, and move toward their desired goals. I work best with individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and actively participate in their healing process. You’ve already taken a courageous first step by reaching out; now let’s explore whether we are a good fit, as it would be an honor to collaborate with you. I value transparency, authenticity, and a strong therapeutic connection. You are the expert in your lived experience; my role is to support, guide, and walk alongside you as you move toward growth, balance, and emotional well-being.

Hi, I am Jenn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and the owner of Epijennetics Counseling and Consulting in Libertyville, Illinois.. You can read more about my work and practice at www.epijennetics.com. As a therapist, I hold the belief that we cannot fully understand mental health without first understanding the impact of our stories, our relationships, and our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. I am passionate about helping clients increase their self-awareness of these things so that they are more in touch with their feelings, needs, and desires, and are more equipped with the knowledge and tools to create the life that they want. By utilizing assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to better understand personality and the Young Schema Assessment to explore harmful thoughts and beliefs that came from previous experiences and messages received during childhood years, I help clients discover hidden obstacles that keep them from having the life they dream of. I have found that when we put in the work to make sense of ourselves and our stories, we not only heal and grow ourselves but also develop more compassion and increased understanding of others. Often this growth and healing process lessens mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression and improves overall quality of life, as well as relationship quality. If you are interested in doing some exploring, I would love to hear from you! (Please make an in-office appointment if you are booking Couple or Family therapy sessions.)

As a child, I always wanted to pursue a career where I could assist with an individual’s growth, creativity and happiness. I learned at a young age the struggles that life can bring, not only through the inevitable, but also through situational traumas that we at times have to face and endure. Being an active member in the clinical field of helping professionals, I have certainly learned the importance of patience, empathy and peace. If you have seen the movie “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray as Phil, you would say it is a comedy. But it is more. He finally breaks out of his dull, repetitive life not by changing his surroundings or anyone else; he changes himself. Just like Phil, if you don’t change something, nothing will change. That is the purpose of counseling: to help you try something different, to change something about yourself, to help you become the best YOU. Whether you are in a tough spot or just have issues you want to address, I am here to help. I am a licensed clinical counselor and a licensed marriage and family counselor. I have 30+ years of experience treating: • Addictions • Mental illnesses • Depression • Trauma and abuse recovery • Anger management and more If I can’t help, I will connect you with someone who can. Hello! So glad you are here! Do you get into relationships hoping that this time things will be different? Do you feel overwhelmed and have a hard time recognizing your dreams and goals? Would you like a more kind and loving relationship with yourself and the ability to extend that to others in your life? I love helping people who are ready to identify patterns that hold them back from happiness and fulfillment in both relationships and other areas of life. My name is Lisa, and I provide therapy for both addictions and mental health issues. While I have treated those with active addiction for many years, I also treat behavior patterns stemming from addictions and family dysfunction. Although these patterns started out helping us survive challenging situations, they can keep us stuck. Many therapy seekers have found that these patterns can impact their ability to recognize their needs, dreams and to create and sustain both platonic and romantic relationships. I have a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Southern Illinois University specializing in Substance Abuse. From substance abuse counseling, I have expanded my areas of specialties to include family and relationship dynamics and how to heal "survival skills" that have evolved into self-defeating life patterns.

As a licensed clinical social worker, I am committed to collecting evidenced based "tools for my toolbox" to aid those grappling with finding the new normal after their world has shifted. I most love helping people find language to describe their losses, often when there has been difficulty finding the words, inspiring people to find hope again, and facilitate the development of a plan to move forward in a way that both honors their experiences and embraces the future. I take an action-oriented, collaborative approach to therapy. I utilize a combination of psychoeducation, storytelling, and evidenced-based interventions to offer meaningful insight to support clients’ healing. I strongly believe that rock bottom is the foundation upon which we can rebuild our lives. We do regular check-ins to review progress along the way. Our goal is not to change the past, but instead to find some relief from symptoms that impact daily functioning. I will solicit feedback regularly during sessions for takeaways to gauge progress and curate treatment interventions based on what is most engaging and productive for the individual client.

I believe therapy should feel calm, respectful, and genuinely supportive. I create a space where people can slow down, speak openly, and feel heard without judgment or pressure. My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative, allowing clients to explore their experiences at a pace that feels comfortable while still working toward meaningful change. Many people come to therapy carrying stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or past experiences while continuing to manage daily responsibilities. I enjoy helping people make sense of what they are going through, build insight, and reconnect with their strengths. Conversations are honest and thoughtful, with a focus on understanding the whole person rather than just one concern. My goal is to offer steady guidance while respecting each client’s individuality, goals, and values. Therapy becomes a space to reflect, gain clarity, heal, and begin moving forward with greater confidence and emotional balance.

Therapy can be a space to finally put some of that weight down. I work with women and mothers who are ready to step out of the cycle of overwhelm, perfectionism, and putting themselves last. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that are leaving you depleted and create space for greater balance, self-trust, and peace. You don’t have to become a different person or figure everything out on your own. You can learn to care for yourself without the guilt, set boundaries without apology, and reconnect with the woman beneath all the roles you carry. My goal is to help you feel grounded, capable, and more like yourself again. My therapeutic style is integrative, blending elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or life transitions. We’ll work to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a safe space. When we’re able to see things from a different perspective, it helps us find a better solution to the problem. I’m not someone who is going to tell you what to do, but someone who will help you problem solve and find what works best for you. I want to work with you and help you become a better and happier you!

Anxiety & Sleeplessness Fear, insomnia, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we work towards increasing sleep time, decreasing panic or anxiety attacks or symptoms, fully understanding where overwhelming emotions stem from, and how to move towards being your best self. Relationships Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both partners and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship. Trauma and Healing Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. You may be the person everyone depends on, yet still find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure of where to turn. Maybe you’re navigating a difficult relationship, grieving a loss, struggling with self-esteem, or carrying emotional burdens that have built up over time. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and also a School Social Worker. I believe healing happens when we take the time to understand the experiences, relationships, and life events that have shaped us. Often, the challenges that bring people to therapy are connected to deeper layers of their story that deserve attention, compassion, and understanding. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Together, we’ll create a space where you can explore what’s weighing on you, gain insight into patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop tools to support meaningful change. Something brought you here. Maybe it is a specific problem that needs solving, or maybe it is a general sense that things could be better. Either way, reaching out takes courage, and you deserve to work with someone who takes that decision seriously. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and various types of life transitions. My work is grounded in deep compassion, hope and the belief that every person has inherent worth. My approach is warm, direct, practical and tailored to what you need. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian principles and faith-based perspectives into our sessions, offering a space where your spiritual journey can be interwoven into your healing and growth. I draw from psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches as well as from cognitive behavioral therapy. But honestly, the research is clear: the most important factor in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. And that is what I seek to prioritize in my work with people. I believe in this work because I have seen what happens when people get the right support. It changes everything. Outside the office I am an outdoor enthusiast, a Bible nerd and a firm believer that rest is productive. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience, supporting people through various stages of life. I have worked in a variety of contexts over the course of my career including community mental health, corrections, private practice and the Veterans Administration. Let's meet for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we might be a good team to address your concerns.

Hi, I’m Angela. I understand that reaching out for support is often the hardest part of the journey, especially when you feel life is heavy or uncertain. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, whether you are navigating the complexities of recovery, the weight of grief, or the shifting transitions of midlife. Since 2016, I have focused my career on supporting adults through the challenges of substance use, working across all levels of care, including detox, residential, and medication-assisted treatment. As both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addiction Counselor, I have invested significant additional education and clinical hours specifically in the field of addiction. I believe it is important to work with a therapist who focuses on these patterns, as alcohol and substance use rarely exist in isolation. They are often intertwined with anxiety, codependency, trauma, and relationship stress. In our sessions, we will explore how these challenges impact one another and work toward your specific goals for change, whether that involves moderation or choosing abstinence. I am also passionate about supporting women navigating the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. This stage of life frequently brings a surge of symptoms such as irritability, brain fog, and anxiety where you might find yourself drinking more than you intended just to get through the day. I offer a nonjudgmental space to address these symptoms, helping you develop healthier ways to cope so you can feel like yourself again. My practice is built on a foundation of grace, respect, and the belief in the inherent dignity of every individual. I provide a supportive environment where we can work through the messiness together to build a life that aligns with your true values and goals.

Welcome—I’m truly glad you’re here. I bring a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach to this work, shaped by graduating with honors in my Master’s program and earning my Bachelor’s in Social Work with a Minor in Human Services. With 17 years of experience supporting at‑risk youth and families across Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri—and roughly five years in a direct therapeutic role—I’ve learned that healing is most powerful when mind, body, and spirit are invited into the process. My background includes specialized training in DBT, ASIST, trauma‑responsive care, and emerging work with elders through grief support and medical assessments. My practice continues to expand as I deepen my understanding of military culture and the unique stressors faced by Service Members, Veterans, and their families. I integrate training in reintegration support, deployment‑related stress, and identity transitions to help military‑connected clients navigate life with clarity and strength. I am honored to now offer supportive therapeutic services to clients in the state of Virginia. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Somatic Therapy remains one of my first passions and is available for in‑person sessions. This body‑based approach helps clients release stored tension, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with the wisdom of their physical and emotional selves. When the body softens, the mind opens—and healing becomes more accessible, more intuitive, and more aligned. My work is guided by a simple belief: ~When people feel safe, seen, and supported, they naturally move toward wholeness.~ It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and step into a life that feels grounded, authentic, and spiritually aligned.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
