I’m a mental health professional with a deep and varied background in education, counseling, human services, and advocacy. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside adults, youth, and families navigating trauma, identity shifts, life transitions, and the lasting weight of systemic challenges like poverty, incarceration, and intergenerational trauma. I don’t just see symptoms, I see people. Whole people. And I meet them exactly where they are.
Hello and welcome! You've taken a great step by considering if therapy could be right for you. Many situations and life circumstances bring people to this space, and I look forward to talking with you more about your unique story. If you're even wondering if therapy might be right for you, then the answer is yes!
My name is Emma Peters. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. I received my Masters degree in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health) at the University of Arkansas. While in Arkansas I worked with adolescents with maladaptive sexual behaviors and co-ocurring disorders in an inpatient setting. Upon relocating to Illinois, I spent several years working in substance use treatment settings, including residential/inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs. I've spent the last several years focusing on individual therapy. While in this space, I have developed a passion for working with young adults and supporting the unique challenges they face today.
This journey can feel a bit overwhelming at times. I believe in bringing authenticity, compassion, and even a bit of humor into the therapy space to support and empower you through life's most difficult moments.
Hello and welcome. I am an LCSW who has 28 years of experience providing therapy to a wide array of clients. I enjoy meeting clients where they are at and helping them to discuss their issues, look at obstacles to making changes, make expectations that are more realistic, and helping them to learn new skills to decrease the negative effects on their life.
When everything feels like it’s piling up, having a space that feels steady and supportive can be a relief. I show up with warmth, calm energy, and genuine curiosity. Clients often describe me as someone who listens closely, helps them feel understood, and brings clarity without judgment. I’m practical and down-to-earth, but gentle in how I guide the work. I value honesty, balance, and helping people reconnect with who they are beneath the stress. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, seen, and able to move at a pace that feels right for you.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and certified DBT therapist with nearly a decade of experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, trauma, and relationship concerns. I offer a thoughtful, collaborative approach that balances structure with compassion, helping clients feel both supported and empowered in their work.
My integrative practice draws from DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic mindfulness, and relational therapy, alongside executive functioning skill development. I focus on practical, solution-oriented strategies while also honoring the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape each person’s experience.
I work to create a calm, validating therapeutic space where clients can build insight, emotional regulation, and sustainable change at a pace that feels respectful and achievable.
*Currently accepting female clients only*
Therapy has changed, and thankfully so. The old idea of spilling your heart out to someone who feels distant, judgmental, or out of touch does not work anymore. So let’s not do that.
I’m Jessica Milgrome, a licensed mental health clinician with 15 years of experience, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor. I work with women navigating anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, burnout, and major life transitions.
My approach is modern, direct, and judgment-free. Therapy with me is a real conversation. No awkward silence. No walking on eggshells. No wondering if you said the wrong thing. We talk openly, focus on what actually helps, and skip techniques that do not fit your real life.
Sessions can be video or phone. If video feels too intense some days, that is okay. Therapy should feel supportive, practical, and human.
To share a bit about myself, I’m a big fan of stand-up comedy because laughing really is life. I look forward to Mondays for Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlists and live by the mantra, “When words fail, let the music speak.” I also share my life with six dogs.
I’m here to help you organize your thoughts, build confidence, set boundaries you can keep, and move forward feeling clearer and more grounded.

I primarily focus on working with children, adolescent, adults, and parenting support. I generally do not specialize with couples.
I am an Illinois and Wisconsin Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University, where the prominent perspective was person-centered therapy. I have worked with several different client populations including couples with marriage difficulties, adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and other life adjustment issues, physically and sexually abused adolescents and adults, adolescents with mental health issues related to school, home, adjustment, or mental illness, and even adolescents and adults on the verge of suicide. In working with these populations, I have gained vast experience in family dynamics and feel it is important to focus on the whole system, especially when a child is involved. I have also been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and I feel many adults and adolescents could greatly benefit from learning these skills. God is our ultimate counselor and His word is referenced and prayed from as part of the healing process.
You may be someone others rely on—at work, in your relationships, or within your family—but internally you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. You might find yourself overthinking conversations, struggling to set boundaries, or feeling responsible for everyone else’s needs while your own take a back seat.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who feel stuck in patterns like overthinking, people-pleasing, or difficulty communicating their needs. I also have a strong interest in working with veterans and understand the unique stressors that can come with both military and post-service life.
