As a nationally-certified, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I have extensive experience working with clients dealing with mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD and/or trauma-related symptoms. Coupled with my background in coaching, I will engage you in two ways: 1) a look back at the conditions which contributed to your current distress and 2) a look forward to define how you want to shape your future. This involves creating a specific vision of your desired outcome and a plan to achieve it. I wholeheartedly believe in the change process and, while difficult, it can lead to a more peaceful, satisfying and productive future.
I am bilingual, bi-literate and bi-cultural (English-Spanish) and have worked with diverse populations both in the United States and abroad for the last thirty years. This has allowed me to develop a high level of attunement to the needs and challenges that people may face based on their diverse and unique backgrounds.
I am a firm believer in people's ability to identify solutions to the problems they are facing. What you will experience with me is an atmosphere of acceptance, empathy and a non-judgmental approach. Additionally, I will encourage you to define goals for yourself and work towards achieving and/or exceeding them.
In support of therapeutic work, I incorporate my background as a mixed media artist. Hello and thank you so much for having enough courage and honesty to take the first big step. My name is Erlynn Cabarles, LCSW and I have a Master’s in Social Work from SFSU. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California since 2015. I have 20 plus years of experience in the mental health field and I believe that the first step of healing is self-discovery and the development of personal goals to overcome challenges. My intentions are to instill hope and inspiration and to empower you to be able to move on to a more fulfilling life. Remember that You are resilient and determined to change for the positivity. My purpose is to provide a safe space and non-judgmental environment. If you’re ready, I’ll be here to support you on your journey towards healing!
I work with adults, especially immigrants and first-generation clients, ready for focused, engaged therapy. My work centers on trauma, identity, and major life transitions. Sessions are structured and collaborative and require a private, distraction-free space. This is therapy for people prepared to show up consistently, participate actively, and build real stability, clarity, and confidence over time. I am fluent in Russian and Spanish, allowing therapy to happen with cultural understanding, nuance, and trust.
If you are looking for structured CBT or skills-based homework, I may not be the right fit. Therapy with me involves examining avoidance and ambivalence as they arise (I’ll tend to be more direct with you when emotional or mental patterns like that emerge).
Most people don’t need more advice. They need space to slow down enough to hear what’s actually happening inside them. My work is less about fixing and more about listening; not just to the words, but to what’s underneath them. The pace of our conversations will be different from the rest of your life: slower, steadier, more honest. My goal is to help you come into contact with yourself again, to notice what’s true and what you really want.
As a therapist, I work with my patients to establish a foundation of mindfulness. We begin here to increase awareness and reduce judgements of the self and others. I take a collaborative approach with my clients, allowing autonomy in all aspects of treatment; while holding them accountable. I provide clear action steps after session to facilitate and foster a culture of implementation of skills and topics covered in sessions. After all, this is your life! Who know's it better than you.
Hi, I’m a former college educator that pursued a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology to be able to work with people in a more personal and direct way.
In addition to clinical work, I taught college
English, received a MA in Cultural Studies and pursued a PhD in English and New Media. I feel that this gives my clinical work a good cultural foundation. I understand people as coming from complex family, relational, economic and cultural backgrounds. I’m also aware of how media, images and messaging can affect our daily lives and experiences.
Life can feel overwhelming at times — whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship stress, or a major life transitions. I work with adults who want a supportive space to sort through what’s going on in their lives and learn practical tools to feel more steady and confident. So many of us appear to have "everything together" on the outside but privately struggle with constant overthinking, intrusive and racing thoughts, pressure to be "perfect" , and high-functioning anxiety. My approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy with a person-centered style, meaning we focus on both real-life strategies and creating a space where you feel genuinely seen and heard.

There is a way out. Those who come to see me are often at a crossroads, frustrated at how they are trying to deal with problems and seeking workable strategies and solutions to cope. Therapy is meant to be a space to feel welcome to talk about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are problematic. Understanding unhealthy behaviors, frustrations with life, and/or unsuccessful efforts to cope can help reveal the obstacles that may block your path to growth and desired outcomes.
Why do we explore? So you can live a life YOU want to live!
